I would take enough large wooden blocks and a 5 ton jack to pick up the trailer so you could get under it . maybe you could put your old tires and wheels back on just for this recovery ? check your spare tire .
I still need to cut the frame and turn the engine so it sits where it should and make a front engine mount . I have been working on the pluming . I can't use the power steering pump already on the engine it sits to close to the frame I will have to find a military pump or use the belt driven...
I don't know what the ideal space between 1600 tires is ? . Longer springs longer torque rods moving axle stops just these things you will lose axle travel . changing to air ride may be worth looking at ?
You can take them off with out removing the springs .I did one side and then the other . you can do them one at a time and if you need to replace any brake lines or seals it's a good time to do it .
bolt the flange on the drive shaft to the transfer case and the other end to the rear end and then measure from the center of the u joint to the other center of the other u joint . With that measurement your drive line shop will know what you want . take him your slip joint also .

This trailer is for a 5 ton I did pull it home from the scrap yard with my m211 tractor that is loaded on it in the picture it weighs 15000 and that is about the limit that the GMC trucks could pull . you might search m275 tractor with trailer there should be some pictures .
I bought my M211 in 1984 and the owner had 4 small marker lights on the bed with the small push in bulbs and hooked them up to one battery (12volts) I only used them at night I went through a few batteries I did not think the lights where the problem them the regulator went out and when I...

Just maybe the air from the air pack flowed back to the master cylinder and up the vent to the central vent right by the old air filter . this one vent is tied to every thing check your master cylinder to see if air is bleeding in to it ? years back I over filled the gas tank on my GMC...
