Point taken
I did a search just now and found all the information and part numbers needed for items discussed.
Took 5 minutes.
The point of that post is the information is almost always available in older post.
This keeps the forums from having dozens of identical threads asking the exact...
Their all tapered.
Just the angle of the photo makes it look weird.
I thought the same thing.
The race wear doesn’t match the bearing wear at all.
That’s why I mentioned that someone knew it was like this and didn’t care.
There was zero debris-flakes in the grease.
Especially for the small...
You can post a parts wanted request in the classifieds…..
Or find them easily on eBay.
I replaced all mine with a NOS complete set when I first bought my M1008A1 over 7 years ago.
They always worked perfectly, until that one failed.
Took five minutes or so to replace it and now back to...
Finally found something to do with this trailer.
This will make a nice portable pressure washer.
It’s much more stable than it looks.
Already have a cover and hose adapters ordered.
A one of a kind M101A1 built by Raytheon to carry FireFinder Radar.
Now it transports water.
Im well aware.
But I’ve read elsewhere that others have tried to make these a pressure washer and it failed miserably, with damaged equipment.
Edit:
Sold the whole setup.
Never used it.
Couldn’t be happier.
This is the Jack I have mounted on 2 M101A2s and this M149A1A
5k rating and handles the water trailer fully loaded with ease.
The local farm store, Attwoods, sells them.
The tongue modification was done by the Oklahoma Forestry agency.
Works perfect for the CUCV and the Jack is an absolute...
Last month I picked up an almost brand new M17A3 Decontamination Kit.
2.6 hours on meter.
Kit is complete and includes a big collapsible fabric water tank and also a diesel powered water pump.
Accessories locker was still banded and locked from factory.
I bought it to flip but are these worth...
What exactly are you used to using?
Mine are more than adequate.
I tow my M101A2 trailers a lot and their fine to back them up with.
Their better than my wife’s 2021 Chevy Trail Boss
Pickups mirrors.
You could go with the large camping/towing mirrors that were available and are reproduced...
These rims aren’t the best.
Didn’t realize that someone used a hammer on them until after stripping them.
The backs weren’t rusted so I’m not sure why the beating.
Oh well…….
Character and they were almost free.
If the green wheels look stupid, super easy to paint black.
I’ve seen the green...
Painted wheels for newest M101A2.
383 Green on face and rest of wheel is flat black. (Black paint applied after pic).
I know they’re supposed to be all black but want to see how this looks on mine.
Easy to fix if I don’t like the overall look.
Tan trailer is going back to green.
Will have a...
Painted wheels 383 green.
The green zinc chromate is really close to 383 green.
Rest of wheel painted flat black.
Will let the paint set up for a few days before installing new clamp valve stems and new tires.
The Military issue cargo nets for most US vehicles/trailers are called Load Tamer.
If you watch eBay, sometimes they show up NOS for a really good price
I still have a NIB one for my former 5 tons and have two (1 for CUCV and 1 for M101A2 Trailers) left.
They work well and are very well made...
M101A2
Painted the original issue Jack handle brick red.
It’s not tactical, but practical.
Stripped old coating off rims and sprayed green zinc chromate primer on front and back.
Once fully dry (takes 48 hours) will paint them either CARC green or black.
Did front gate modification. So...
