Hey 100dollarman,
No, haven't figured it out yet. But I did decide to keep them, they're pretty nice. A convoy to AZ may be the way to go. Don't know if the LDS-465-1A engined deuce runs. It looked like it runs, and it looked road worthy.
Hey Charles, Should work real nice with one of the M128A2C's. It would be nice to score an M127A2C as well. I'd like to store a couple of my smaller trailers up on it.
Hey Andy, I did'nt decide to bid until the last hour. They looked like they were going to go for a good price and I really...
Won an M818 w/w last week. They went very reasonable. Has an arctic kit with the in-cab insulation panels and multifuel heater. I figure the road tires will be perfect for the 1700 mile drive to AZ. Description stated 35,000 miles and 1900 hrs.
Hey 100dollarman,
It was nice meeting you and your son. You've got a great looking place, I love the high desert. And, WOW what a great looking line-up! I recognize that shop van and most of the others. Outstanding!
Hey Ed,
No trouble either way, took the 10 then 15 up Cajon. Took the 40 back. CHP and cops all waved. Of course I had my favorite hat and T-Shirt on. An ACU Patrol Cap and Sand T-shirt. I actually saw very few law enforcement folks. The hours I drove and the routing were chosen to0 make this...
I got out of Phoenix about 4:00 pm Tuesady afternoon. Got to my hotel in Barstow at 3:00 am. I threw 1 of the alt / water pump belts about 2 hours into the trip. threw the last one headed down the hill into CA. Found a truck repair shop still open in Blythe that had the belts. Took about an hour...
I'm enjoying the 2.5 ton thread, it kinda morphed into a "how many in the Steel Soldiers Motor Pool" question.
Let's count up the 5 Tons in the SS Motor Pool.
Mine:
1 XM816 w/w
1 XM813 w/w
1 M52A2 w/w
I think it would be cool to keep a running count of the trucks and trailers in the SS Motor...
Hi Maccus,
Sure, I'll get some shots for ya. It may be this weekend before I can get to it. Yes, only 2 lines. And yes, exhaust at the valve. I do believe that the valve is a bit different on my M52A2. Possibly just the manufacturer or model.
Welcome Randy, Thanks for your excellent service on my recent order. I'm sure both hubs will provide many years of tough service. It's a personal choice. I chose Ourverson's based on my own reseach over the last year. When I called to order, I spoke to the owner and manufacturer, Randy. I like...
Hey Devin, I thought gage looked wrong, I need to get some sleep. I'll probably head out there the week of the 25th. I've got 3 deuces out there now as well. Do you have something to pick up? Or are you thinking of taking a drive?
I'm thinking about my route, On my way out, I'll probably go 10...
Hey Ed, Thanks, If I were to pick the favorite of my motor pool, it's probably my M275A2. It'll be getting a winch as well. The data plate (NOS replacement) shows it as an M275A2 w/w
As far as flat tow or trailer, I'm driving the tractor to Barstow to get the M128A2C I won a month or so ago.
I chose Ouverson hubs for my M275A2. I've installed them before the Air-Shift goes in to make drivability on my 800 mile round trip to barstow better. So far my road tests show a big improvement in smoothness going down the road. Can't tell that the sprag is engaged. I'm also going to install...
Devin,
I think I need an intervention. But really, I'm not going into the truck sales business but I am working on a concept that would require a healthy stable of trucks. Plus, these 2 looked very cool, and looked like they were very well kept. I'll try to give you a call this weekend. Take care.
Good deal, are you kidding? That looks like a great deal. One looks like it may have an Arctic Kit (fuel fired heater on driver side inside fender). Nice job!!!
