That's the first time in a long time just hearing an engine made me smile. Thank you. Most of that valve noise will go away once adjusted. There's just something good about an inline six.
That's great news. It's a fun truck to drive. Pictures of that deuce with California behind it are always appreciated. It had to be the easiest solution in the G749 world of problems. "Let er' run and add fluid". Beautiful. Rusty's advice could breath new life into deuces people thought were...
That's a nice truck. Welcome aboard. I got to drive the right hand drive British version and they are all truck. He was missing the fold down sides but your truck looks complete. Very nice.
Are you insured and registered for the road? We're hearing the beginnings of the end for Green Iron in...
That's an odd looking canister. Looks a bit like a pregnant Air hydraulic Cylinder pac. Someone will likely recognize what it came off of and an era, https://constructionmanuals.tpub.com/14273/css/Air-Hydraulic-Power-Cylinder-Air-Pak-289.htm
This one looks a little closer in diameter...
I saw Zeligson somewhere before and those mysteries almost always send me hunting. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/zeligson-crane-truck.4794/
Likely pulled into Zeligson for a conversion after service but it's always cool to find out more info.
Crane Carrier Company and Zeligson were...
Gotta love those boots on the 1010. The photos and pics are so appreciated. The 1010 is bear resistant so sleeping in the bush once the doors are closed is very relaxing. Keep the adventures coming.
Are we shifting yet?
You've shared some good news with the " New part including new production clutch plates throughout " statement.
If there are new parts available from a source you can reveal, it may help the rest of us out.
Are these new old stock parts, reconditioned or did Fatsco come...
That WET coast is incredible for the 5 days a year it doesn't rain. It was actualy a dry year out West so just need to time visits between storms.
Wait a second.........Duane was able to get you through the border with just a text?
Hey Duane, I need some stuff brought up from Mexico...
That is just a high level talent of wood mastery and I feel honoured to get a look at it. Thanks so much for sharing. You catch so much detail we're losing sleep staring at them.
One of the least modeled yet sassiest military vehicles created to date is the G749 series. It has compound curves...
We're moving this American truck off the G749 farm today so having some southern knowledge is always a bonus.
What's the turn around like and do you get time to visit? We could run you into a few hidden warehouses to see the CDN MV gear, visit 2.1 million fallout shelter spaces, go to a...
A fella over at pinterest had this snappy photo for us. Looking forward to seeing you and listening to stories about the boring drive across the prairies.
She's pootiful! Interesting you found one that had a poop tank. This one was named Piglet after spending her after service time at a pig farm. It's my next project. Your truck is clean compared to Piglet.
Your distributor, coil, plugs and wires need some investigating and maybe part number...
Not sure how things come together sometimes but the Legend, Cliff Carbol managed to keep the crushers off a few G749 items. Everyone I know is working long hours and somehow Mattech still mustered the time to drag a 30ft trailer to the G749 A-1 Salvage gold yard. A Twisty skid steer with forks...
Any human that has the patience to put any machine together without making a mistake or throwing tools across the shop is a divine human. Taking it apart is one thing but TDC and valve lash and gear mesh and gap and firing order and electrical and welding and brakes and steering and hydraulics...
Hey, speaking of forging, I just found out Tesla worked with some European company to build the best forging press on the planet....so far. Hot aluminum is injected into some very complex forms for large automotive parts....not too fast or it creates bubbles and not too slow or the aluminum...
I watch TV. The Big Bang Theory. Sheldon had an eidetic memory and although I'm no Sheldon, I can often recall where I saw a photo or a sentence....for some odd reason. I'm not always sure where my keys are......but I can picture them.
One thing we never pictured were the rod bolts for the...
That is a great idea. Drainage in the rain age calls for a water dam between the fenders, .....or a lifted floor in the bed area so water can drain under/ out a hole. or a combo to manage water. Maybe a solid back/mid wall would be better with a rain seal on the bottom, a door with a knocker ...
That's good timing, ironic, funny and saved me a ton of time. I was just telling Soldier B Mattech that my eidetic memory knew it saw pictures of the heater install kit. It didn't know where or when so thank you.
Today we got double skunked.
Lost a water buffalo tank that likely would have...
I was sure hoping we weren't going to get skunked with all the good stuff that was coming out of the wrecker. It turns out the real Skunks don't care what I hope for and I was getting skunked one way or the other. Cool little visitor to the G749 farm posing in front of the P-4.
Ol' Cliff the...
The NOS supply is certainly thinning out but I did see a kit on eray today with the title "
gmc 302,m135, m211, 6 cyc engine overhaul gasket kit fel-pro
It was linked through one of those faceoff places https://www.facebook.com/groups/1983094901939987 ....then Dan Jahn says he still has NOS...
