That would be very helpful. I will be working on that soon but am trying to research it out a little so I don't make it worse and not be able to find replacement parts for a while. Does anyone have a part number for a new diaphragm?
Today I got the shock absorbers serviced and the air worked...
From the picture it looks like that is the middle axle to frame line. If it has a weak spot from being pinched and blows out like mine did, the part number is UP 38297 at Napa and H38297 at O'Reilly's and Bumper to Bumper. I had to replace it last week.
Do you recall where you read that or what lines they would block?
I found that the front brakes on mine had been disconnected and plugged. It would be easy to reconnect them, but I wasn't sure if there was something wrong. Maybe it is for the reason you read about.
It has been a "few" weeks so here are the pictures. The original color seemed quite a bit darker than the can the longer it sat. So... another attempt came up with this latest color. It has also been sitting for a few weeks and looks very close to the can. In fact, from less than 3 feet away...
Looks like I will be taking everything apart to do the brakes. Probably best anyway. Yes I am still looking for help on the air governor and shocks.
Thanks for the pictures!! That is exactly what I needed. I think I can modify some of the extra pieces to look and function just like what I need...
Check out page 340 and 342 of TM 9-8024 and also X,Y and Z of figure 83 on page 126. It has to be removed as part of the process to fully drain the transmission.
I don't see the water pump on Napa's site but it is CP36 at O'Reilly's. Looks like you will have to call in and special order it though. Maybe the guys at NAPA can use the O'Reilly's number to find the right one. Let us know what part number you come up with.
The work on the truck continues. An injury set me back but I am back going again. I have drained and refilled the differentials, transfer case and winch. Everything has been greased and the air pack serviced.
I have run into an issue on the shock absorbers and need some advice. The TM says to...
Look at post #4 here.

I did some research on the "Sneaky Pete" tool that Butch talks about. Costs about $9 US here in town. If I am not mistaken, all you have to do is drop the oil pan, then use the tool to pull out the old seal and...
Those pictures work great. I am sure I have two sets but I will pull them all out and take a picture of them.
I am adding part numbers to the list as I go along. Will send out the updated copy very soon.
After being on vacation for almost 2 weeks, I finally had a chance to do some work on the truck. I have started by changing all the fluids. 15w40 was used in the engine. The ATF was drained out of the transmission and Hytran put back in. The air cleaner, crankcase breather and chassis breather...
Here is the new truck I just bought. It runs and drives great. All gears in all ranges work. Brakes are weak but stop the truck at least.
I found it on CL in another state. I drove it the 170+ mile trip home with no problems. Prior to driving it, everything was checked and lubricated per the...
