I matched this color to an old 1952 gas can that still has the original paint. Not sure if it is 2430, 23070 or the early 24087. Either way, here is the code and what it looks like.
First photo shows the sample on the right hand side of the bottom of the can. Second photo is the can sitting on...
Thanks for the Baldwin filter number. Not sure on the rubber line. Check out post #44 on this thread to look up parts for the 302.

NAPA doesn't show a hose online, but the parts store may be able to help using...
I went to Home Depot today and tried to match up the color. Here is what we came up with after many attempts. Turns out a color they already had was the closest we could get with all the tweaking we did. The new color is slightly darker but I think I like it. Here are the pictures taken in full...
Did some checking and it looks like current part numbers from NAPA are..
Push Rod Cover- FPG PS3461C
Valve Cover Gasket- FPG VS3460A
Let me know if these work for you.
I made some really good progress on the list today!!! I discovered the GMC 302 engine parts on the NAPA website that their own parts guys seem to not know about.
If you go to their site, go to "add vehicle", select "Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks", then "1952 GMC 455-30" and...........up come 302...
Are you using a NOS valve cover gasket or did you find one at a local part store? If a local part store, could you tell me the part number so I can add it to the list?
I did some more research last night. Maybe this is the original 2430?
I should have pointed out that my pictures make the can appear slightly more green than it looks in person. The paint on the bottom of the can is in really good shape. It was a little bit oxidized, much like the top of the...
Yours is one of the samples I had mixed. That trailer looks great! Unfortunately Home Depot only sells flat samples so the one in the picture doesn't do the color justice.
I am trying to decide if I want to use the 24087 or use 23070 and make it right for the Korean War era.
Yes. I like the color of the can and plan on painting the truck the same color. May go to Home Depot and see if they can match it. Just trying to find out exactly what color it is.
The sample is from a paint code that someone on here matched to Rapco 24087. Here is the link...
I recently purchased this gas can for my 1952 GMC M135. Is this semi-gloss paint 23070? I have looked at Rapco's paint samples and this looks close but different. Any thoughts to what color it is? The first picture is with a sample of 24087.
Hello and welcome to the forum! I'm not too far from you looks like.
I also have the same year and model of truck with the same transmission issue in low range, but it dies when I put it in high. Just moved out here last year and my truck is supposed to be getting shipped out here this summer...
PM your email address and I will send it to you. Keep in mind it is still in development.
Not sure what parts can be crossed between the G749 and CCKW. Good question. Hopefully someone will chime in on that.
Has anyone discovered any new part numbers since January that I can add to the spreadsheet? If so post them or send me a PM and I will add them. Thanks!
Gunfreak25= I joined the Army last month and leave May 20th for Fort Sill, OK.
None of us gave you permission to go and do that. ;-)
On a serious note, that is an honorable thing to do. There will be some rough days ahead for you in basic and possibly some rougher afterwards. Just remember...
I have not ordered any yet but was going to look at either Weebee Webbing or New Life Canvas.
The Early Deuce part of this forum doesn't seem to be as active as it was in the past does it? Not sure where everyone has gone.
If you come up with any part numbers from NAPA, Autozone, etc., with all the work you are doing, post them please and I will add them to the spreadsheet that several of us are working on.
