I started a YouTube channel to show the restoration on this vehicle and on many of my other vehicles. so please take a moment to watch and like, subscribe and leave a comment on YouTube to help me out getting this channel off the ground.
I would have assumed that the proper color would have been 34079 which was the forrest green used on all the vehicles from the mid 70's up after the 24087 semi-gloss era.
They may not be the prettiest of welds, but they are holding. Welding cast iron can be quite the challenge, but I managed to get the broken flange stuck back on. I wanted to just try it to see if I could do it good enough without cracking the cast iron from excess heat from the weld. It turned...
And the number one reason why you fix a broken exhaust pipe or hangers right away on these trucks. The weight bouncing cracks and breaks the cast iron manifold. The previous owner left the exhaust pipe broken at the muffler for years and here is the result. Broken off ear. Luckily I have a...
It is unrestored original paint. It is severely faded and thin in places and if it is not repainted soon to seal the metal back up it would surely start getting rusty. I'm very lucky to get it as it is, because another year or two left unattended and it would have been a real rust bucket. I am...
Well my wife and daughter left me and my son unattended this past weekend while they were gone to a dance competition and the Green Iron Disease bit again. So across the state we went to pick up another 1967 M725 to add into the motorpool. I bought this one well under market value as it complete...
Interesting decal, I'm not sure if I could reproduce one exactly like that, but I could probably make something similar looking in a one-color decal or paint mask.
The font is a special font that the federal government uses for all kinds of markings from vehicles to signs.
Here is a quick thrown together look with the font to show you want it would look like.
Check out my website, http://www.deltateamdecals.com/ although I don't show Air force kits per say on the website, I can and do make them. I also have the correct font as it was used by all the branches back then. I can make them in either yellow decals or paint masks.
Yep I would go for the standard M249 as that is the one most vet's will have an interest in. I've used airsoft replicas in my vehicle displays for years and they really help set the mood for the vehicle. I use an airsoft M60 and several M16a1's and 1911's in my Vietnam era display and most...
Anybody else heading to the MVPA show in South Bend this weekend? I'll be heading down with my M715 for display and will hanging out around the vehicle if you want to stop by and say hello. Of course, I'll be wandering around the swap meet areas as well searching for gold covered in OD green...
What was truly amazing was that this was the first time in 18 years that I did not drive one of my trucks for the parade. Instead my 16 year old son Zach got the honor of driving the M715 with me and the veterans in it.
Pics from our parade here in Hart Michigan, I only was able to get 4 of my 5 trucks ready (Dodge M37 needs valve seals). But we still had a great time and had plenty of people.
Looks like a solid start. Does it still have the litter racks in the back? Those can sometimes be a pain to track down if they are missing. Good luck and make sure to post lots of pics.
I know they closed down, but I'm not sure if it's permanent or just temporary. If you need marking check out this website, http://www.deltateamdecals.com/ as they can make markings in both decals and paint masks.
