Good thought Neil. I am going to go over the entire wiring diagram pull-out and make sure I haven't missed anything. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will work after taking everything apart and putting it back together ;)
You need to go bury up the M932A2 somewhere so you have it for your avatar...
RE: maker/source of reel?
Good mod! I have a 40 gallon tank and a hose reel off a service truck. I was going to put it on my Mog, but never got around to it. I may mount it on a skid so I can pull it in and out of the 5 ton. My dad has a surplus gas engine powered compressor that would go...
Well, no major updates from the weekend since I was back in WV until returning last night. I tried a new light switch that Mike sent me to see if that fixed my lighting problem. No dice. I checked grounds and cleaned the contacts in my turn-signal switch. No help. The only thing I got to...
Glad to see you are making some progress Mike! The mad dash to Aberdeen is underway at my house too! Good luck and keep plugging away. We're pulling for you :)
Shopping in the area is very limited. Laurel is a no-stoplight town. It is not a place to meet women for you single guys unless you are, shall we say, adventurous. There is a little Ma & Pa store in town with all the essentials and there is a pizza joint, a liquor store, a gas station (not...
Chad, no problems getting it tightened down with a chisel and BFH. Spin and tighten, spin and tighten. :)
Sean, a press is definitely on my most wanted list. I had to borrow Chad's when I was working on the Mog hub project.
Ha, thanks Pete. A winch would be sweet, but way down on the priority list right now ;)
I got my front wheel bearings pre-loaded last night. The passenger side was fine, but I had to fiddle with the driver's side quite a bit. The brake drum was binding against the shoes. I finally got fed...
DABTL, thanks for helping to give the hobby a good name and for helping out your neighbors. If you have a concealed carry permit, it wouldn't hurt to pack some heat in case you run into some bad folks like Jason aka halftrack did. Course it is TX. Everyone packs heat down there don't they? ;)
Man that is so cool DMA. I'm glad it turned out to be a good truck. ePay can be a little scary sometimes so it's great your seller was on the up and up. Too bad bad you are way out there on the west coast or you and bkubu could convoy. The only thing better than a HEMTT going down the road is...
Sounds right Chris. I believe David Doyle commented that he used to get about 2 MPG with his M62. With all that weight, I can't imagine you would gain a lot of mileage with porting. A nice "light-weight" tractor should do a little better running bob-tail. Maybe 4 MPG like Mike said.
Thanks brother. I'll double check that wire. I have a switch on the way so I'll swap the sonofagun out and see what happens.
I just got in from running some 5-ton errands. I picked up my side window from the glass shop. $48 total for new laminated glass installed in the frame. Sure beats...
Back to the original post topic. I too have had my share of starter breakage. I had one crack right across the nose through one of the mounting holes. Prolly because when I bought it, the rear brace was MIA. Worse than that, was the starter bolt that sheared off way up in the hole in the...
RE: weight
I used to take mine off by myself all the time. I would back up to a hillside that was level with the tailgate when down. Then, squat down and lift it up on your back and shoulders. Walk it out the back of the truck and squat it down onto some wood or cinder blocks. I am 6'3"...
Man, I wish I had a forklift. My legs and back would be much happier when working on the 923. Heck, I'd settle for a second set of hands sometime ;) Looking great David!
