Good news is I just talked with another guy who messes with these 939 trucks and he is going to get me hooked up with some o-rings. I may still look into your offer M1075. I'll need 7 more next year when I put some "new" tires on it.
Oooh, activity in the Pinz forum, sweet! Glad to know Chuck is ok after taking a nose-dive, flip, flip in his Pinz. I hope it's not a total loss. Where'd the wheel end up Mike?
Cool, thanks for the tip on the o-ring and the balance weight, Jason! I will try the round one that I have on Wednesday. Does anyone have a NSN 5331-01-314-7598 laying around that they'd like to sell me? I need a second one for my spare tire swap.
M1075, the one on the left looks just like mine. I am not familiar with the 20 bolt clamp ring and boy am I glad mine only have 10!
Thanks Jon! Good info in case it happens again!
I looked up the NSN for the o-ring for my wheels in the parts and tools manual and it is the same number as the...
Thanks Mike. All of the CTIS components are still there and they all work. I do have a leaking hub seal in the left front that needs replaced before it will function normally. I will disable it for the trip to Aberdeen since there won't be time to rebuild the hub between now and then.
So, Adam, are you leaving from your Dad's place now? I think at one time you were going to be coming over from Norfolk and meeting up with me in Franklin? No big deal, just need to know. We'll be leaving out real early to meet up with the group in Doswell.
That's great John. It's great to see the bilge pump spewing water again after all those years. Looks like you'll have it done just in time for Aberdeen!
There will probably be 2 new t-shirts around by Aberdeen. I am also working on buying some stickers and magnets in bulk to sell in the store. Hang in there gang. Oh, and one shirt will be OD and the other Black!
Here's some pics from yesterday's work party with my brother. We fought rusted and broken fasteners all day! We started by breaking down a rim to change the valve stem. A combination of 3/4" ratchet, 1/2" impact gun, Kroil, muscle and profanity finally got the clamp ring off. Then we had to...
DMgunn, don't worry, new avatar up soon.
Jason, I wish I could! It would save me a lot of sore back, neck, arms, etc... Anyone who is trying to put on some muscle or lose some weight is welcome to come over to my house any remove and install my wheel clamp rings :)
No, Hammonds is the last name. Howard has been in the surplus biz for prolly 40+ years. He had residue contracts with Ft. Knox and Ft. Campbell for quite a while. He collected piles and piles of parts and residue vehicles over the years and they have been scattered across acres of over-grown...
RE: Ain
Nice looking truck and display! Welcome to the site and yes, more pics are always welcome. We also like details about the owner like how long you've been in the hobby, what vehicles you've owned, where you found your current truck, what you've done to it, etc... Inquiring minds want...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Who is going on the 2007 East Coast Conv
Umm, I hate to be a bearer of bad news, but the photo upload wouldn't work for me. I tried a big one, a small one and a really small one. I'll go in on that round too!
I had about an hour to work on the truck after work last night. I decided to take the wheel apart with the bad valve stem. I needed a deep 1-1/8" socket to get the ring nuts off. I had one in 1/2" drive, but there wasn't nearly enough leverage there to break them loose.
I went to the...
