Here, check my reply from this thread;http://www.steelsoldiers.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=7236&highlight=handle
Door mechs come out fairly easily throught the access panel inside the door. Remove the outer handle, then the inner handle. Then screws around the...
I had to remove the mount from behind the drivers seat, because I had to move the seat back 3" so that I could fit behind the wheel. I'm 6'3" and my legs would not fit under the wheel until I moved the seat back. So I decided to do the commanders mount from the TM as a place to show my weapon.
Thanks for the comments, I could not find any good info on the mounts for the rear of the 715, so I built my own. I used a piece of tubing that the gun mount would slide down into. Added a plate to the bottom that I bolted through the bed floor. Also added one to the front lip of the bed for...
I have a single mounted to the dash just left of the glove box on my deuce. I bought a duel kit when I was restoring my 715 just to get one set up out for a commanders set up on the dash of the 715. So when I got my deuce I had the extra one laying around and mounted it straight to the dash...
Wow what a fine looking motorpool you and your friends have. I wish there were a few more guys closer to me who would be willing to do something similar. Until then I'll just have to keep using dummys when I'm at shows. This was from a show this fall.
or from a local parade
I got mine from Saturn Surplus. They were fairly cheap, but I see that they are now sold out of the seat bottoms, but still have the seat backs for $12.95.
Brushguards can be found at Vintage Powerwagons in Iowa and they also make a weld together replacement tailgate. Bob Cowen over on the m715zone.com also makes a replacement tailgate. Non of the replacement tailgates will have the Jeep stamped into them though. And there is no source for...
Yep, looks like a 67' from the relay box. it could of had the special desert filter added to it while in service. The desert filter kit looked very similar to the canister filter that became standard on the later versions. But judging by the relay box it's a 67'.
I have antique plates on mine an nobody ever bothers me with them. I drive mine all the time in and around town. Cops usually just wave as I past. I do live out in the country though. Heck I figure because it's restored that everywhere I go is a display.
If it is a M715, they were only produced between 1967 thru 1969 so it has to fall in those years. If the data plates are gone, then you can look for the serial # stamped into the frame in 2 locations. On the passenger side top of the frame rail right above the rear axle, or on the pass. side...
His has a LDS-427, but it is non-turbo. It smokes like a frieght train while driving it! I thought the turbos were only on the LDT-465 motors. And was added as a way to help clean up the exhaust.
It was my understanding from previous posts and other research that I've done while lettering these trucks is that trucks with a 0125 prefix where from late 66' thru 67' and that the NKO registration numbers were not started until the mid 70's. It is also my understanding that once a piece of...
