Calling on all Michigan Historic Military Vehicle Owners

Pretty sure Mich is like every other state that the persons buying the plate are charged an additional fee for that privilege and pay the actual cost plus willingly. Also most states make money off personalized or vanity plates and that is why among many other reasons they do it. Some non...

    MTS II/ Movement Tracking System

Did you get one of the complete systems in the hardigg cases from epay? I have picked up from a different auction the DRS monitor/cpu ( supposed to be missing the hard drive? Not sure on caddy) and the keyboard. I have not disassembled yet to investigate. How do you tell the difference in...

    Tire Paint Removal

Spray Brake Cleaner and some scrubbing. I have had some tires like that cleaned up. Whatever residue remains can be painted with "tire Black". That looks like a paint marker which has a wax / crayola type texture with paint mixed in. Does not look like rattle can.

Hmmwv eating through power steering pumps

My thought is a problem in the stg gear box. No other components in the system can cause the lock issue or turning right stiffness. Internals probably shot.

    Govplanet HMMWV Auctions ?

roughly 4000 have been sold through GP. I am of the opinion that we are on the downslope of supply. Yes, not at the end like the M939 5 tons or M101 trailers which hardly trickle out anymore. There is for sure more in the pipeline but definitely shrinking. I look at 2 large armories by me and...

    Juan's M998 HMMWV

Ah, That makes sense on the ceramic connector. I had sorta thought that because the At1011 set up I have on the Harris base with the tilt adapter just has a screw on the bottom and had a broken off ring terminal. No coaxial or bnc or tnc connections. I tried to hunt down a Harris Rf-382 tm or...

    Juan's M998 HMMWV

Very interesting stuff there :-) The tower is made differently than all the ones (20) I have. The thinner side is not angled like mine and the wider side looks much wider and I see 4 holes for some attachment on the side? Also the stiffener in the middle is not angled. Reinforcement is also...

    Juan's M998 HMMWV

Is that large hole in the back right corner top of fender? Btw, The tm shows a hole for the cabling for the Rf-382 there if so. Don't recognize the other patterns ? and looks like 2 plugs have also been installed in pic 1

What on the **** is happening to our rights to drive our trucks?

Please post the specific laws/statues or letters of your state's actions. We are facing the same problem in La. Others have mentioned of problems in Idaho and Va. Is this from Ca or Nv ?

    Miler Marker Hydraulic Winch Identification

Interesting, as the rear ones I have seen do not have solenoids at the winch but there is a block for them by the windshield washer bottle/Cadillac valve. I have not seen that valve either? Also looks like there is 2 ports at the solenoid block? Mile marker tech support is very friendly and...

    Juan's M998 HMMWV

Cool as they are hard to find. It appears the first ones using the towers were bolted to the fenders bare. I guess some whacking of trees and overhead clearance issues, They issued a bulletin I found in the PS magazine to retrofit plates top and bottom. Plates are easier and cheaper than fender...

    Juan's M998 HMMWV

I do have a large multi pin connector cable that came with it for the control. Not sure on Power? Is the ceramic cone with a stud/nut the power? Ironically , I think I will be up your way in Sept for my Niece's wedding. She dances Ballet at a company in Indy but I doubt I will have my toy with...

    Banged up just a little

What is up there? That is way too tall for a mg mount or chicken shield? Inquiring minds want to know because if that is some electronic gizmo like a tow launcher, Oh boy, I would like to see that dirver's explanation video......

    KDS green label PCB COOKED!!!!

found these 2 interesting articles. Major points of failure analyzed by army is non military grade solenoids and boxes not sealed weather proof. Also, Search the hmmwv section as Greg 86humv did a nice thread with all the types and pictures of the boxes and senders.

    KDS green label PCB COOKED!!!!

make sure battery is disconnected. Probably it was time for the magic smoke to release. Replace box and temp sensor/GPC (green box does not matter as wire is not used so if you replace with another green label, no need) to new ees style

    m998 Air Lift Bump Shackle

There are 2 different bumpers. The older style take the same shackle as the front and has no large hole. The A2 bumper has a large hole for the tear drop style shackle. I have the castle nuts only for the tear drop if needed. The first pic shows the A2 bumper with the older set up. The older...
