Howdy,
Ouch
A MEP-802A doesn't take a lot of coolant either.
You know the drill about filling. The folks that do not have forks, are probably better jacking one side up to a good angle to get the coolant in and air out.
bets of luck, keep us up to date. 8-)
Howdy,
What does this mean?
Someone said they changed them?
It seems you have a answer why it doesn't run right too.
Not running smooth. Fuel issue. Have a good baseline. saying you checked them means nothing here.
Disconnect the primary and take a sample reading of fuel flow amount ...
Howdy,
He stated he has only changed the oil filter. (filled with break-in oil)
This is a fuel issue.
Does he understand priming? Does he have a air leak? You need to start at the bottom and work your way to a baseline first.

Howdy,
Have you replaced the fuel filters? spin-on water/fuel filter, and cartridge filter? Have you cleaned the inside of the fuel tank? Any crud floating around? Any sand?
After changing these filters, you might have to leave it on prime & run for a while to fill the new filters. (maybe 5...
Howdy,
A possible source of water back into your unit.
With a exhaust stack that long, you will have incredible amounts of condensation forming and rolling back down the pipe. It just will not get hot enough to evacuate all the water. You have no means of a water trap. You would be better off...
Howdy,

Howdy,
Why on earth would I have a exhaust flap?
I did not buy a parts machine. I would expect the person which bought a 400Hz unit would sell you the exhaust flap for $500 to try and get there money back.
Howdy,
The unit could have been sitting for a long time. The switches could be in need of some TLC, was the engine surging?
Water in the fuel?
Drain and clean the fuel system. Change out all filters. Fill with fresh diesel with additives of your choice.
You need to start with a good baseline...
