Howdy,
There are discussions here on the forums about the fuse mod.
The manual here Military MEP generator reset information tells you what is needed, and where to hook it.
PDF page 29 has the MEP-8xx 5kw and 10kw fuse mod. It also has the ME-8xx 15kw and higher fuse mods listed too.
Howdy,
The manual has so much info regarding the Military Generators.
It covers 2kw to 200kw
It also has all the info regarding the fuse modifications.
PDF page 29 for the MEP-802/803 units
Howdy,
It should be fine. The Lister-Petter LPW4 has been around a long time. Just double check that the kit has the head gasket. Or as they call it, the head joint. A lot of de-carb kits has all the stuff, but the head gasket.
Do a little research as to which head gasket. I remember reading...
Howdy,
To each there own.
I used the braided original style line. With keeping it filled with diesel #2 and not using JP8, it will last longer than the military fuel type use.
The MEP-8xx series of generator all use diesel fuel return lines. After sometimes sitting with no fuel, or heat...
Howdy,
FUEL RETURN LINE = very low pressure

Howdy,
Anyone have a source for a MEP-802/803 water pump?
The one listed above seems to be missing in action?
Coley, how did that pump work out for you? Has anyone else gotten a pump which fits and works correctly?
Howdy,
I think it still was around the same contract time. Kinda like a Libby, or Fermont.
Eitherway, it really makes testing and working a generator easier. :)
Howdy,
Slow down a little
Take a meter and verify a few things first. You do not want to be sending say 120v on one leg and 80v on another leg. House stuff does not like that. :)
Howdy,
Trailer recovery checklist.
All paperwork printed and ready.
Height correct pintle receiver.
extra lengths of chain/ and or links
magnetic tow brake/tail/turn lights
zip ties
duct tape
zip ties
zip ties. :)
Hooked up and ready for the road... ensure the hand brakes are fully off. Check...
Howdy,
The same here.
Forks, and lift a unit up and tilt probably 40 degrees. Makes it real easy filling since the air escapes to the top as the coolant is going in.
Howdy,
Received a email 10/16/17 saying the SF-97's were on there way.

Howdy,
1 of my units is a 2007 MEP-802A which had 14 hours on it. I picked that unit up in May 2015. That means it has been sitting around for 8 years with that same oil. Oil itself does start to fade after being introduced to fuel, heat, cold, heat, and use, and non-use. I know engines, and...
Howdy,
The MEP-8xx generators start different than what people are used to. Holding the switch to start longer then starting is fine with a MEP-8xx. It will not grind the starter. (if things are good) After the engine starts, the starter disengages. It actually is the correct starting...
Howdy,
Someone ask me why I did not have any feedback. I had to search to see what it is...
OK, I see I leave feedback for you as a buyer, and you leave feedback for me as a seller. :)
Thank you steel soldier members.
Howdy,
I guess I should ask to get some feedback scores.
A little late, but if you bought 1 of the many well nuts, gauges, panels, components etc... from me. could you go to my name and leave feedback?
I guess I need to go through and leave a buyers feedback as well...
