Howdy,
Any surplus generator should be fully loaded to 100% for a few hours to ensure its operating properly, and to clean up the exhaust.

Howdy,
In the United States, power is 120/240 volts, and 60Hz.
UL = Underwriters Laboratory
Things which are sold to consumers in the US have a UL sticker. That means it was subjected to variables to qualify for a UL rating. The official UL rating means the product can withstand a variance of...
Howdy,
I have most of the accessories for my PU-798A (Mep-803a on a LTT-HC high mobility)
Pictured;
slide hammer
slide rod driver/puller rod, with rod knuckles
ground rod clamps
remote 55gal/5gal fuel pickup adapter
aux fuel supply line
6awg braided copper ground

Howdy,
The temperature gauge is deceiving. There is not a lot of marks or space between the 200 to 240 temp readings.
My unit was wet stacked. The entire unit had to burn off the wet stack goo which had gotten all over. I really should have taken the muffler wrap off and cleaned that whole...
Howdy,
Without doing a onsite inspection, you really need to look over the pictures really good. GovPlanet knows that if it runs, it will bring a higher price. I would say the staff will do little tweaks, such as adding batteries, and such. A video with it starting and running gives you an idea...
Howdy,
I suspect that is why it only brought $800.
Some members here purchased units like that. They drained the oil and got all the oil and about a gallon of water. Of course it also depends on how long. Onsite inspections and "does the motor turn?" could make a big difference.
Howdy,
So, do you have the cable in place? Did you trim any of the length off? it looks like you could fit it, and then trim the black covering back to where you need and simply cut the wire to the length you need.
Is the knob all black, or does it have that bright red button?
Howdy,
It sounds similar to another member here which had troubles with the S-1 start switch. At some point in time, somebody replaced the S-1. But, they did not get all the pieces back in place. A few of the wires then have jumpers over to another screw. Anyway, he ended up disconnecting all...
Howdy,
As others have said, get a hand meter and check what the frequency and volts are at the lugs.
Motors start and run better on 240 volts and 60 Hz.
If you keep going and the Hz is way off, you will kill your pump.
Howdy,
It really depends on the distance too. I have 2 units for sale here in Virginia.
2009 MEP-802A with 60 hours for sale
2009 MEP-802A with 561 hours, with LTT-TQG trailer. ( PU-797C ) Tan
Both units are for sale and are ready to go.
Howdy,
That is normal. I have a load bank thread Acquired a Military surplus load bank that I loaded and unload both MEP-802A and MEP-803A units. The MEP-803A was sweetly loaded up to 67 amps.
Howdy,
Not knowing what size the little mounting size is, wait until you physically have it, and look over the different aluminum project boxes for sale to mount them up into. That way it will be a nice finished end product. You can cut and dremel the mounting easily.
Howdy,
Naming is everything... what are you calling the control box reset button's?
Was a light lit on the Fault indicators? which one was lit?
Have you run this MEP-802A before and loaded it to ensure its ready to go.
