I should clarify, I was able to pop the belt off one of the idler pulleys and create enough slack to secure the alternator. But now I can't get the belt back on, its as if its too short. The tentioner is completely maxed out. I did some more googling, and it looks like there may be 2 variations...

I guess I'm assuming that you would have to drop the tank for that, but I haven't looked to see where the sender is. Sounds like its easier than I assumed.

Can you use some sort of bore snake/camera through the fill neck to check for this? And why doesn't the fuel filter protect the IP?
