Dave - I don't believe the same modifier would be used in the two different fluids. So, saying the same modifier has two different effects in the two different fluids just isn't likely to be true. The only thing the same, if my understanding is correct (and that's always subject to question)...
That's the point - it's not the same stuff - just a 'friction modifier'. One fluid is slicker, the other has more friction. That's why you can't just go into the auto parts store and buy a 55 gallon drum of 'GP Fluid' and use it for all applications. Different application, different fluid with...
There are - and yet none of these bushings are likely to run with the same small clearances found in the high pressure path of the IP. Does it make a difference? Methinks it might...
The original question (and poll) was specific to ATF; I believe in this case the modifier is intended to increase friction. I will snoop around and see if I can find an article which will satisfy your demand for an authoritative source.
But, the statements about modification of friction are...
If you have your original pump rebuilt then it’s almost certain that the button thickness will change; AMBAC could sell you the correct button at the same time, because they would know the original pump measurement (marked on the flange of the pump) and the thickness of the original button and...
Curb-to-curb is diameter, the deuce is listed in radius - so curb-to-curb for a deuce is _twice_ what you're seeing in the TM - which is more than a 70 foot turning circle.
Hope to see a lot of the local MV folks at the MVMVC flea market on April 15 in Milford NH. As Bill states, this is our first year having the flea market in Milford, NH. MA DoR started insisting that the vehicle club police the vendors and make certain that everyone selling anything at the event...
The reason I submit the breaker still works is because the OP said it cranks but won't start. Without the breaker functioning it won't crank.
Simple test; close the breaker and turn on the panel lights; if they light up, the breaker is fine and your issue is elsewhere.
The above statements...
The emergency shutoff is just a circuit breaker that shuts off the DC to the control circuits. It stops the genset when the electric fuel shutoff solenoid drops out. When you go to restart, one of the first things you should see is the solenoid retracting and allowing the IP to deliver fuel...
How long was the genset running when you took the reading? Had your battery been fully charged beforehand?
I ask because the charging circuit on the MEPs can only supply something like 6A maximum; that takes some time to charge a battery. Remember, these units were designed to be started and...
All my dealings with John have proven him to be a top-notch person with great products, be they new or surplus items. I wish everyone was as easy to deal with and as much of a stand-up guy as John is.
Hello, Stan. Sorry for the delay in reply.
Yes, I've got a 20" Rockford Hydraulic Universal. Even has power downfeed and tool lifter. Got the proper vice on it as well. Very useful machine to have in a home shop, but a bit on the heavy side for a small shop; she's 3 ton if she's an ounce. Mine...
Agree with the comment that 1800 RPM drone is much easier to live with than a 3600 RPM scream. No matter what the sound pressure level is, the slower diesel speed noise is not quite so hard on the ears.
I also use the MEP 3-phase output to run large metalworking shop equipment. My hydraulic...
My first thought would be that an oil burner can tolorate a lot more in the way of crud or chunks going through the pump and nozzle than your MEP IP could take without serious damage.
It's likely better than nothing, but I don't think I'd convert over to using them instead of the stock filter...
Need to know what your cold and warm pressures are - and what oil you're running in it - to make a meaningful comment.
Is it dropping right away, or only after warming up?
