is the lab looking for the specific dye...? otherwise, what would the lab find/prove? i love cops; code-type or real, all cops add value, all the time.

Fraken-deuce as a tow rig, any reason not to?

in order: - i don't blame you for wanting to swap. i did. but a '466 is going to require a shoe-horn and anything bigger is likely completely out of the question. - do-able - won't fit without extensive mods; length is the major issue - you'll have to relocate the transfer rearward quite a bit...

pullin big pines down with the M52A2

the 'coast side' of the beveled ring/pinion gears is the weaker side due to stress concentration on the contact area of the two gear teeth. but it's likely negligible in most any condition that we could simulate...

    fail-proofing full hydro steering

yes, you are beating a dead horse; you say if "a hose blows." ok, which hose? is it a high pressure hose from the power steering pump to the steering valve or a hose from the valve to the cylinder? what about the low pressure hose? all these generic statements have proven is that most of...

    Winch?

looks like the HEMTT self-extraction winch. hard to say, though. other possibility is the L/FMTV mid-ship winch, but the cable routing brackets look different. not sure.

    5.9 Cummins, NV4500, Hydro-boost, and Disc Brakes

on the inside of the pass-side frame, just in front of the motor mount - a pic would explain better. guess i should take one... the horns came with a 12/24V solenoid; my horn button doesn't work, so i just installed a push-button. eventually i want to take the steering column apart to find...

Under bed gooseneck hitch for Deuce

yeah, i knew someone would bring up pintle vs illegitimate GN. good luck grossing 43k in a 130hp deuce.

Under bed gooseneck hitch for Deuce

try the data plate on the dash; likely it says something like max towed load is 6k# offroad and 10k# highway. so w/ a 30k trailer being somewhere around 5-6k# empty, that leaves you with about 4k# of load to put on the trailer. seems a bit excessive amount of trailer.

    Bobbing Deuce - - Use T-case?

nope - might as well use a 205 and sell the transfer to someone that would actually desire it. better yet, why not sell the entire frame/chassis/power train as a complete assembly and take the deuce cab and put on a set of straight frame rails? seems that's the only thing you're after is the...

Under bed gooseneck hitch for Deuce

you realize what the towed ratings of the deuce are, right?

    5.9 Cummins, NV4500, Hydro-boost, and Disc Brakes

Update so, i know it's been a while since i've last posted any sort of update. i've been doing a lot of misc. type stuff. i think the electical wiring is about done - lights, horns, fan switching, air compressor, etc. i've used about 4000 zip-ties and 18 miles worth of e-tape and plastic...

    Turbo's

gee, i dunno. maybe since that's the first i've seen the answer to the question, your method is just fine. so if the intake is coolant lined on the LD motors, the i challenge that the intake was never inteneded to act as an 'intercooler'. rather, i speculate the design intent is for...

    I am not 18 anymore

i'll buy the cigar if you can do use that method on my truck. [thumbzup] the method i use is from atop the winch: lift and then step onto the valve covers to set it against the visor. then i use a 1"x3"-5' to prop as a safety support against the wind. to get onto the winch is either by...

    Turbo's

so i read 12° of IAC temp reduction at 11psi of boost. sorry, but that's not much to brag about. i'd be more inclined to say that the same aluminum manifold with the coolant passages blocked off would likely result in similar reductions. i hate to call it an intercooled intake when you can...
