So basically the big nut on top of the pump and maybe the governor Springs is a decent start for a novice wanting a little more umph? Knowing so little about tinkering with diesels this is all a little foreign but I appreciate all the patience and information you guys are giving.
Those cameras/monitors look great. I might consider the same setup eventually. I'm picking my truck up next Friday, funny thing yours had flat fronts mine has a couple flat rears.
I drive garbage trucks with air brakes for work in Rhode Island. Sometimes in this bitterly cold NE weather we will lose pressure like that when an air valve with a little water in it freezes the valve open. This happens usually while driving or when just hitting the brakes in general. I'm no...
I'm no expert, and I haven't won a truck yet but I think the rule is on actual military bases you have to get a vehicle towed off base by an approved tow company. Hopefully someone who knows will come in.
I live in RI I don't have a truck yet, just waiting for my taxes to come in and to win one on GL. Once that falls into place I'd love to join in a meet up or club.
Sweet I kind of figured that was the problem. I'm glad it looks like an easy fix. I've had a few old F350s and there was only 1 switch for gauge /fuel. It's an honest mistake.
It stopped while going down the road but after he said he switched tanks and drove awhile. I think he only flipped the dash selector not the actual lever that way he'd think he was on other tank but instead run the original tank to a point under the fuel pickup and then stalling out
That's what I'm leaning towards it being but I'm pretty rusty when it comes to m939s.
I'm just patiently waiting my taxes to come in and a corresponding auction until I have one of my own.
I'm not an expert it's been since 99 since I've driven a m931. But did mikey say something about the tank not changing over with the switch? Could it be he assumed the dash switch changes tanks and not just sending units? I'm pretty sure there's a lever on the floor that switches actual...
Good to know. I have a CDL and wouldn't consider driving it without at least insurance. I'll have to check if Rhode Island issues a transit plate although I doubt it.
Thanks for the quick response. I wasn't 100% sure how that worked.... And as crazy as I've been driving my wife with my 5 ton talk I don't know how well having to cough up extra for a tow right off the bat would fly lol.
Sorry to revive an older thread, I've been doing a lot of lurking in this site. When I get my taxes back this year I plan on bidding on a running 923 at new castle and was wondering if anyone can tell me if they're a site that will let you drive a purchased 5 ton off site or does it have to be...
Truck looks amazing. Just in case you're not familiar with speedometers after a tire swap in general, I've put bigger tires on all my 4x4s. The difference usually remains a constant percentage.... yours looks to be about 15% off so at 60 you'd be doing 69.
I loved driving 915s with the CAT transmission when I was in. We drove long haul over the road and had very few problems with them. That looks great with the deuce bed and I'm dying to see it with super singles.
