    I won a 934A1 last week.

    If you only put 14r20s on the front wouldn't the truck have a severe rear leaning rake to it?

    So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

    Terrific write up and pics exactly what I need. One question that makes me feel dumb. I'm finally ready to do my governor Springs now but I'm shaky on where to put the breaker bar to turn over pump. You said alternator nut, as in, on the alternator? I think that's the last bit of info I...

    M923A2 Idling RPM

    This might not have anything to do with your problem but if you look under the hood on firewall where pedal comes through there's a spot where the hand throttle cable is connected. Sometimes mine gets stuck on the bracket and basically acts like hand throttle is partly pulled out.

    925a2 not shifting past 3rd

    I'll post a pic later today of where I had to adjust the whole assembly. That is ultimately what made the biggest difference on mine. It didnt even seem like it would be enough of a tweek to change anything but it did. I think that one tiny adjustment might be just what you need because it...

    925a2 not shifting past 3rd

    When looking at the accelerator linkage near the injector pump the modulator is connected to it you can see it snake down towards tranny. loosen the screw that connects it to the linkage and slide cable forward or back it only goes about 2-3 inches in either direction forward towards front...

    925a2 not shifting past 3rd

    It might just be your accelerator linkage is way out of wack like mine was. Mine wouldn't shift without letting of gas pedal. I adjusted the shift modulator and it wouldn't even get out of first it didn't Rev high enough.

    925a2 not shifting past 3rd

    My M923A2 was doing something similar. I had to do alot of adjusting of the accelerator linkage not the transmission modulator cable. If you look at the pivot point where the far end of linkage is, nearest the pump, the bracket with 2 small bolts holding it on was maybe a 1/4" out of...

    New M-923 owner

    I haven't done it but I've seen a few people just relocate the batteries to the regular battery box.

    And the day began with such promise!!! 8-}

    With so few hours on it I'd think possibly it hadn't gotten worked hard enough for a fitting that wasn't torqued properly to leak. And the incline and low fuel is almost a definite as to why it died with just under 1/8 tank showing on the gauge mine has run out on flat ground.

    And the day began with such promise!!! 8-}

    I don't know why it stalled but I bet the smoke was just from coolant leaking onto something hot. Is it possible there wasn't enough fuel in the tank and due to the steep incline it couldn't suck it up.

    Rhode Island (yes it's a state) to New Castle DE and back

    Little overdue update on my truck. Registering her was a breeze. My daughter completely went nuts when we pulled up. I now use the truck as my daily driver, going to start changing out filters and oils soon. The leaky tires are still leaky and I haven't bothered messing with the ctis...

    What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

    After 2 months of adjusting the transmission modulator cable and various adjustments to accelerator linkage finally was able to pin point the problem. It would hang at the top of second gear forever it seemed. It was the bracket where you adjust the idle it was shifted forward about 1/4...

    M939A2 Radio components

    I think I remember you undo a couple wing nuts near top of seat and it flips forward out of the way

    Is the 8.3L Turbo Cummins the " best " engine ?

    I believe it has some to do with the big tires too I don't think the problem was as prevalent with duals

    Is the 8.3L Turbo Cummins the " best " engine ?

    With so many variables I'd look more into quality/price of the truck first and engine second. For what you want it for either one would probably be fine.

    Plode's M923A2

    I have so many leaks in mine the floor is wet regardless of the windows. There's a pesky one that drips into my boot when I'm pressing the accelerator. Just waiting on warmer weather and a free weekend to start plugging holes

    923 ground pressure on 1400's

    I don't know specifics but in general on hot days my garbage truck at work will tear up asphalt, but primarily only if i'm turning the wheel on the asphalt. If I'm driving straight it may or may not leave a slight impression on the cheapest thinnest of asphalt. My garbage truck IS heavier but...

    So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

    I put a few turns on the forwardmost top screw and have seen an improvement and a puff of smoke when I goose it. I can't for the life of me get the star wheel cover off I've tried chipping the paint off the plug etc. Is there a secret to getting it off? Is it a necessary adjustment I'm a...

    M915 headlight switch problem. Odd. Clues below:

    I drove 915s over the road in a line haul company or of Fort Campbell and we always had to turn the 12v dash fans down to point down into the light switch panel

    What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

    Thanks. I've checked out a few of the videos but sometimes it's hard to judge how much louder it is at low rpm. I think I'll just go for it when the time comes.
