M35A2 trans.
I was moving one of my vehicles today, a 1997 Topkick with a 6spdOD tranny. I never looked, but I think that tranny would be a good candidate for a Deuce. Might be more plentiful and maybe less expencive. !!!???
I have bid on a trl in Fort Drum and I have paid for it. It is too far for me to go for one trl. I have papers and paid documents for it. If someone wants it, PM me. It is a Chassis Trl M103A3. I wanted to get 3 to make it worth the trip, but I failed to get 2 more. Phil
1st BOB JOB!?? Stage 2
Well to answer jpinst , I did the Bob job for a customer, whom I sold the truck too. I was hesitant to do one for myself , but after doing this one I can see the benifits, and I plan on doing one for myself in the future. It steers much better, maneuvers better, less...
When I was in Viet Nam, I saw many a Deuce loaded Chuck full with crates of 155 rounds and also pulling a TRL with a full load. So it is not unusual to see a Deuce LOADED UP. Just use Common sense and CAUTION when hauling heavy loads. I hauled 6000 gallons of water in Nam with a 5ton Multifuel...
UMO
That was a good test you did you did with used motor oil, . It's AMAZING!!! I have run large amount of Hydrolic oil, USED, and my Deuce runs great. Now to find a good source of used oil is in order. Good luck, Phil
RE: 8 ton on a duece?
I know the Deuce can pull it OK, but the Week link are the Brakes!! It would be OK for off road and in low range in pasture. I used to haul 14 to 16tons in a 5ton dump, no Problem!!, Phil
FranhUSMC, What U mean, doesn't the Marines TRAIN Their troops!!?? How did the Marines become the best?? Boot Camp was a big Play ground for me because I was in good shape, 6'5" 165lbs. . Brain washing wasn't any worst than what I got at home, and if I had not joined the Marine Corps at 18 , I...
Bob Deuce Stage 3!
Had a pretty good day. Cut and shortened the bed. Some rain, helped keep me cool while welding. Everuthing went well when I placed the bed on the TRK. 6 out of 8 bolts lined up up well. Now have to Reposition the most Rear tie downs. Just have to re-wire electrical and clean...
Recovery4x4, I did notice the Cork seal and that looked good. Like I said ealier, I don'tthink the Inner seal was Bad. I shall run it for a while and Time will Tell! I would rather pull complete wheel and Hub, than change Dual tires and wheels agaid. I only have a Week 1/2in Air wrench,so all...
Man I am glad to hear that! I got some DOT5 and had to bleed the system, and what came out was not PURPLE. I was wondering if someone had changed the stuff. Phil
A little won't hurt. I used WMO in my 3406B cat on a regular basis and it actually went further on a tank. I run some in my 6-71Detroit with no problems. 5-10 gallons to a tankful is safe!! Think obout all the Countries that do not have STRICT EPA laws, like Mexico, do u think their fuel is...
RE: Re: Meets
Msoumas, There is a Rally in Weare N.H. that I shall attend next weekend for the first time. I have room here and woult like a sort of Round up or something . We can get people together. It is pretty Quiet here in New England as far as MVs are concerned! Phil.
I have taken bot 2 seals out and they don't seem to be bad. I think the Hub may have been too lose. This is a N.G. truck. Never know what they can do!!??? I replaced the whee and tightened the hub. Time will tell. I shal check around for someone local to Stock this. Maybe a tractor place or Mack...
Can someonetell me what # for Rear wheel seal on M35A2. Got to get 2 from parts store. Could not find anything in Cross Ref. I need a Civy # Thanks, Phil
1st BOB JOB!?? Stage 2
Got some work done last couple of days. Took the Shorty for a spin down the road. All is fine. I am really enjoying this work! Maybe do another one and SELL it.
The Diff. was on temp., and just checking that a Comm. Diff. would go on. Now to find a 2sp. with Low. the...
Rattlehead, What kind of loads will U be carrying? Are U really worried about the load transfer? I mean these MV are already Overkill and if U haul any kind of Military trl or Civy trl, I do not think U have a problem. U can always install a Slidiing fifth wheel if there are Real issues on Wt...
