Don't forget to add the lucas transmission fix. I run it in everything. It will make the smoothest shift smoother.

I used rtv sealant. Vibration/flex stopped.

Search how to advance the injector pump. Then try turning it down in small increments. If the pump is advanced to high the truck will smoke really bad, especially at idle. The previous owner may have over advanced the IP. Is the smoke coming equally from both exhaust pipes?

Save yourself the time and stick with standard 24V. Why settle for less? Any problems finding parts can be solved on this site.

One deep cycle battery should give you all the extra bank you need.

I installed a large power inverter (12-110). The two main batteries were moved to the front plate side by side. The new deep cycle battery was placed on the back plate. I ran a circular saw on it intermitently for 5.5 hours. No problem starting truck afterwards.

Dealer replaced mine (Jan 85 M1008 No problems no hassle. They didn't leak, but why not if its free.

Check your tires for balance. I had to replace all four of my tires due to warped and broken belts. The truck was really wobbly and smoothed out around 30-35. After buying new tires it is smooth in all ranges.

If you want to go fast. Sell it and buy a race car. I think CUCV's have plenty of power. What are your plans for the vehicle?
