I bid on the ones locally and they went for over double what I was willing to put into them. Someone got a deal with the one as it was 39 hours on the clock & the trailer still had the plastic wrapping the tools in the box.
Good luck to those that did win (better for me anyway as my $$$ will...
Update;
Since we have the new admin and all; figured I'd bring this thread back to life.
I just tried to use the "Mark forums read" link and I get the same message.
Just something to add to the list when there's time to look at it.
Thanks.
I don't know about a 400 gallon fuel pod on a M105, but I can comment on a 350 gallon water tank in one. You will want brakes if towing with a civilian rig! I was glad to swap out the original axle for one with electric brakes as I was pulling it with a F250 Diesel. I was able to keep it...
You do not need to pull the entire assembly off to change the shock, nor do you need to remove the jack or safety chains. You only need to pull 6 nuts and 2 bolts, 4 for the lunette to hitch and 2 for the shock to the assembly, 1 of which is inside. Fairly easy to do. Good luck.
EDIT - I just...
The answers you seek are in several different threads; but I'll try to answer all of them as quickly as possible. A full search would reference you to the threads I'm paraphrasing right now.
Testing the system is as easy as loading the trailer and going down a hill while lightly applying the...
The vent is for the master cylinder only, NOT the entire system. Air will not escape and cannot overcome the fluid pressure to get back through the master cylinder itself.
Similar vents are on several older vehicles, yet they all are considered closed systems after the master cylinder. I...
It is standard steel line from any parts house. Field bend to fit your application; you may need to get a flaring kit to make the connections yourself if you cannot get the right length line.
Yes, you MUST bleed the system after replacing a line; otherwise you will have trapped air and no...
Yes, a '64 CJ5 master is a direct replacement. I ended up replacing the whole master on my M101A2 and getting a spare cap that way as the local parts house (Napa) couldn't order just the cap. The one that came on the new master is vented with two small holes (~1/32" diameter) at the top; I...
I would advise to drain the MC, fix the vent and bleed the brakes well with new DOT 5 to ensure you don't have any water in the lines before testing them out. Sounds like you could have a pending rust issue that may come back to bite you later.
I am not intimately familiar with the hose vent...
:ditto:sounds like something caused the vent line to shear off in the past and you've got some sloshing.
The solid cap has a vent built into the mushroom rather than the hose assembly. You should be able to remove the vent line to cap attachment and put a new hose assembly on there.
Sounds like the studs are stripped off OR the lug nut is internally stripped on the stud. Best method is to pull the assembly off as a whole and find out which is the case. You can pull the cover, remove the cotter pin and nut, then pull the whole assembly off (ensure the parking brake is NOT...
You live in a slightly more temperate climate than I and a hose heater may survive. I do say MAY with strong thoughts that it will not last very long. I remember testing one on a Chevy 1500 in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with dismal results.
Due to that test, I will not have one in any of...
I obtained a motorcycle sized plate and riveted it directly to the rear cross member. This way, I can have the tailgate down and it will still be "somewhat" visible. Another member put his on the tailgate with a hinge so it remains vertical.
There was a thread about this subject some time...
I know that I have referred a few people to this thread concerning the shoes and other parts for rebuilding the M101 A2/A3 & M116 A2/A3 series brakes.
As a followup, I have recently ordered some of the parts listed above. Be aware that the new backing plates from e-trailer are dimpled for the...
I just rebuilt mine. You can get the master cylinder from Napa but you need to modify a transmission copper gasket to work for the bolt. Otherwise get
it all from croft. I'd also recommend replacing all the bolts. I had the 1/4 in bolt for the actuator break internally and cause the brakes to...
3dAngus is right about the wally world box wrench. That's how I got mine for the flipping technique I used. I just cut off the 1-1/8" end with the grinder to make it easier to handle (and I needed the shorter length for another project)! It has held up to several beatings without a scratch...
I rebuilt a D60 for my F250 last year and was able to get ALL of the parts at local parts houses. You may want the civilian vehicle model number as most houses cannot cross reference the military trucks worth crap. You may even have to go into the books and get the part numbers yourself, so be...
Have a safe trip, looks like a nice trailer.
I use a 8 ton pintle on a class 3 backing plate and never had any problems. Many others claim that you should avoid the combo ball / pintle hitches as they like to bind up in the trailers and you'll have some popping around corners. I don't have...
