I'd add a bottle of Red additive (911) available from NAPA or Wally World (1 small bottle treats 200 gallons) and run it. I keep a bottle in my truck for when it gets to -40* and colder in my neck of the woods. Usually I'm OK with the white bottle for temps up to -60*.
I don't have a heated...
Check with your DMV about an abandoned vehicle and forget about going through a title service.
Are you a member of Binder Planet or Binder Bulletin? The group of people over there have a lot of experience with the IH scouts and what it takes to get them titled in individual states. I was...
Welcome to SS & yes, this was the right forum sub-directory.
A 10k pintle (10000 lb) will be more than sufficient to pull a fully loaded M101. A fully loaded trailer will still be under 5000lb, so you'll have at least a 2.0 factor of safety.
Just make sure the receiver on the land rover is a...
You could easily tow a M101A2 or A3 with your rig. It has a surge brake on the trailer, so you're brakes are taken care of. I changed out the bulbs to 12v and replaced the military connector with a 7 pin & it works great. Could put LED's into the housing instead of bulbs as others have done...

I can only speak for Alaska, but they only numbers that need to be used are the S/N *** for the VIN. Mine looked the same, but I used the 3 digit S/N and didn't have any problems getting my SF-97's or the AK titles.
Good luck.
Have you looked at this thread for lock options? I've got DaPlug on both of my MV trailers and so far so good!
As for the OP, you'd probably be better off with a M101A2 or A3 as they are easier to get your hands on than the 1101 / 1102.
I have to agree with Big Red on all his points for reasons to avoid the commercial units, it sounds like his idea is a good one. It's the same scene here in Fairbanks for cold weather needs. Most parking lots where you'll be sitting for more than 6 hours will have plug ins for you to utilize...
You can remote start a diesel. The local shops have been doing it up here in Fairbanks for years... The trouble comes with the cold idle circuit, but I know they've worked around it as well.
I'm aware of several non-mv diesels (all makes) that has remote start in my local area. Personally...
Can't help you there on the fiberglass side of things, but if you don't have any leaks with the fabric topper, you're all set.
I built a removable wood deck that sits just above the wheel wells for a sleeping area, with just over a foot of full height at the tailgate. It worked great for my...
Don't use a 6k dexter drop axle if you plan to utilize the trailer to it's full potential. It'll bend the axle. Am having this problem currently after about 20 uses and was told that since I didn't follow their recommended spring distance (hard to do without major modifications to the...
I used to live in Michigan and it was no-fault before I left. You can move a vehicle one time without tags (directly from the place of purchase to home), but you do need something from your insurance company that says you are covered. I remember calling my company to get a one time moving...
I don't know what engine he had in it. I do know it was a 4x tundra x cab. He wanted to take it for a test pull down the road to see how his truck would handle it. He claimed to be having problems going up the 6% grade at the end of my road. I was behind him in a scout and could tell he was...
I had one person willing to purchase one of my M105's a few months ago until they hooked it behind their tundra. It was way more trailer than the truck could handle safely (per the owner). I would personally look for a hauler, but they can be stacked per this thread.
Here's a thread where...
First, what are you planning to tow them with?
For a car hauler, I wouldn't go with anything less than 16' with electric brakes. Search the trailer threads as this has been covered many times. An 18 footer would be better.
Is your trip all flat, or will you have good hills to cover? Just...
I have to admit that everything that is in AK is NOT paved. Based on the trip plan, they're running across the Taylor highway, which is currently washed out, and most is a chip seal at best.
I can only hope that it is properly fixed by the time this convoy is headed through. Most of the...
That trailer does have a tongue. You are missing the coupler.
As mentioned above, there are a couple of options on replacing it. You can replace to stock with a surge brake system or get a standard A-Frame coupler (ball hitch) and install it. The second items are easy to find on ebay or...
The trailer has male pins. You want to use the female sockets for your cord. Or you can take a small soldering gun and rewire the trailer plug directly to your 7 pin in about 10 minutes or less & not have to deal with the adapter cord.
Water Tank
I put a 6k dexter axle under the trailer and my 350 gallon water tank in the bed. Works great, but I noticed that the dexter axle is starting to bend in the wrong direction (only about 4 months old).
Time to look for another axle I reckon...
