    12v-71 detroit diesel

Here is a 12V71 in a Hot Rod. Note how large of an engine it is. I do not think a 12 cylinder diesel engine will fit under the hood of any MV without stretching the nose.

M 123's going to the scrap yard

:ditto: I'd go with ya to recover it! I would just hope there would be two M-123's to drag back the Ohio/NE IN area! rofl As these Cummins V8 were an odd engine, even when new, what would a person use to repower a M-123 today? It seems that WM knows of a few and these 5 in WA...all I am...

    M553 10ton GOER Update

Do you think that if Caterpillar has built these with some sort of suspension or otherwise engineered them so they would not bounce, they they would been more successful?

    Adding a winch to a WO/W truck

I've searched and I thought this would be a popular modification. I found a few posts of adding a winch to a Deuce, but not to a 5 ton. So, what is involved? The obvious is obtaining the winch and mounts, bolting it onto the front of the truck...no biggie...just some wrench turning. However...

    Chevy V8 mated with a TF727 M880

YES! When I served in the US Army in Germany in the early 80's...I had a chance to visit the Netherlands. I was shocked at the number of America cars I saw on their streets. I dunno if that is still the case, but I wonder if you do some investigating for salvage yards in the Netherlands for an...

    Chevy V8 mated with a TF727 M880

That is an adapter to go from an International Scout 727 transmission to a Small Block Chevy (SBC). So, that will not work for your Dodge 727 transmission. The $400-500US that you will spend on that adapter is jsut the start of your problems that will need to solve. • Custom Engine mounts will...

    Rough Country Lift Kits

In the Full Size Jeep Community (think Wagoneer, the original Cherokee, J Series trucks) the Rough Country lift kits are the harshest riding of all the lift kits a person can buy for a FSJ. I had a 3" all suspension lift on a 1986 Grand Wagoneer and it felt as if I had NO suspension at all. Had...

serious discussion of 5-ton speed increase via gearing (transmission, differential)

I need to go back and reread these 8+ pages/78+ posts to fully understand all that has been said. Some of this over my head. Anyways, one concern I have about owning a M-818 is the ability to maintain highway speeds. Sure a M-915 or greater would be better suited for my needs, but I perfer the...

    M813 Grill Differences?

I agree...more a aggressive and rugged than the soft round style. However, all the 800 series 5 ton in my unit had the tubular style.

    M656 8x8 Parts

I read the forum rules and am unclear about the policy of posting eBay auctions of parts for others to check out. Help me if I have overlooked this or am in some sort of violation. I have been searching the Internet trying to learn as much as I can about the XM656 and XM747 8x8 trucks. Just...
