P.R.o.M.A. = my butt hurts!
The only way I've been able to insure and register my deuce here in MA is Comercially. The weight negates historic plates (some have done it and I don't understand how). No CDL required, but every year I get a bill from the state for $300 to renew the registration...
I don't have any length reduction suggestions, but you could try to shave off some of the cushioning in the seat back rest. Just remove the canvas and take a long knife and slice off some of the foam so that you can sit a little not so up right. This might ease the wierd seating feeling. Some...
I spent just about the same amount of time trying to get my '02 started (weeks). I checked everything. Its always (usually) the dumbest thing that is the problem. I got a new IP after figuring out that was the problem. Guess what, it still wouldn't start. Like I said, its the dumb stuff, I had...
Ah......why does it look like the dump body is elevated and I didn't see no spinny on the front axle, anyone else? (the night time video)
Just because you have a deuce doesn't mean you can jump cars like Rambo. But that would be something to see!
I should have known better than to think you wouldn't reinforcing things! Those are great improvements, thanks for the pictures!
P.S. It may be wise to the next fabber to take note of such reinforcing prior to hitching ramps to their tailgate.
When draining any of the gear boxes of GL to replace with corn head, how concerned does one need to be with any residual GL? Does anyone flush it out with some magic fluid, or is pulling the plug suffecient? My concern would be the compatibility of the slight mix that would inevitibly happen.
The LO TM will tell you how much lube to use. Some guys will use corn head grease by John Deere as a substitue because the thinner gear oil will find its way out (leak). Google corn head grease, I'll be going that route in the future, its also good for the steering gear.
As for the stripped...
Would it be safer to have the tailgate all the way down when ramping into a deuce? My concern is that all the weight is being held by the tailgate chains. And if the ramps are slid closer together, could someone fold the tailgate up like a taco?
BTW, G. those ramps are A++, very nice. Do you...
I can call some local shops and see what it will take to do a production run on these parts. Any idea how many units I should shoot for? Whats the opinion on fair price?
You guys mention that the pto shafts are spinning at a low rpm, but what do you call low? You might want to go with balancing, esp. if the shop already has the shaft. The last time I looked at my spinning pto shaft, it looked like it spins a lot faster than I'd call low rpm. The gearing in the...
Sorry to see the damage. When viewing the photos, all I could say was "OUCH!!!!!". I hate when toys break, glad you got it out and no one was hurt. What a heck of a way to spend the weekend. What was the operator thinking???????
Mud=Suction=Big Trouble
Right.
Thank you, always thinking ahead!
How does the rest check out? I am having a tough time getting the flared arc for the ears exact, but it doesn't have to be perfect there. I'll try to upload the dims.
This is a cad drawing of the 1/4" plates that can be used under the shackle mounts instead of stacking washers or just using a square plate. The shape conforms to the base of the shackle mount. It is an 1/8" larger than the mount to ensure that it will fit them. The reason being is that the...
