I rode with the Patriot Guard during Matt Webers Funeral Service in Morley, Mi., and the POS protesters were there then. Beleive me, with the turn out that came, they weren't even noticed, and very peaceful. They ended up leaving only after about 30 minutes of making fools of themselves. I will...
Missile tubes.
Finally have had time to drive the truck some, and work out all the bugs. It pulls my 5er real well, and I have a generator trailer behind it, so it's also self contained any where I go. Now I just need to get the wind generator done and mounted to the trailer. Plus I was able to...
Roof Storage
Finally found some good donor containers for roof rack storage, a couple empty Javelin Missile containers, they fit my existing roof rack perfect, all I had to do was strap them on!
I did make a bracket for some mortar containers, put them were the spare tire use to be, they...
We made it as far as Gladwin, almost there!
But I started having some issues with hubs overheating, and some nasty 80 weight smells, so I decided to limp home before I could potentially be repacking bearings on the side of the road. One of the few things I haven't been able to get done on the...
If all goes well, I will be pulling into the Oscoda area Friday afternoon, with the rig in my avatar. I have no choice but to bring my dog, he's a 160 lb English Mastiff so it's not very easy finding a dog sitter, even if he would allow that:oops:. Besides, he loves riding in the 5 ton:).
So I...
I finally recieved my 5 ton rim, and now have a spare:). I really appreciate you all hauling that thing around, and getting it as close to me as you did.
Thank you all for your help.
Do you allow, or even want, not so stock trucks in the show? My truck is a crew cab M818 on 14x11's that I pull my 5th wheel camper with, so it may not be fitting for your show, if not, I understand. If I get a spare for the 5 ton, I will be driving it up north to see the show regardless.
I am...
Bring a rim back to MI?
Could anyone bring me back a 5 ton combat rim? I live around Grand Rapids, and could drive anywhere in Mi. to pick it up. Kipman has it.
I think lifting a axle would be beneficial for low speed maneuvering, in addition to being able to tie up a busted axle. I just dont think it's worth the added effort, yet!
I've had no problems with Ballistic joints on 1 ton and less vehicles. I wouldn't even consider using them on...
Since starting this thread a year ago, I have since had some time on the road with the truck. Plus I singled it out with 14 x 20's.
I really haven't seen a need to increase the turning ease or radius of the truck, so far it has been able to do all I need it too, in the area required.
My...
No, I never got around to it. I ended up winterizing stuff, and getting ready for winter before I could finish the wiring. Plus I started another project, turning a old C60 I had, into a crew cab pickup, and it would fit in the garage, out of the weather:-D.
I am going to add a universal 12v...
Thanks Joe,
Ive been trying to get in touch with someone also, still haven't been able to. I guess I will plan on next Wednesday and hope someone is there! They already have our money, so I guess customer service is not a priority!!!!!
I figured you weren't going to pass up on these. I still think I did pretty good, even if I need to rebuild it. For what I need it for, I couldn't pass up on these, I was watching them for a while.
I turbocharged a Ford straight six 300 with a Turbo out of a Nissan 300 ZX. The thing with turbos is the amount of air they move through the engine. My 300 will start starving for air around 2800 RPM, but I get absolutely no turbo lag right off idle, the turbo starts producing power right away...
Will do. I recieved my Tekonsha P3 this week, so I will be installing it soon. I had a crew cab pickup recovery yesterday, so I took today off work too, to finish up on the camper, and hoefully spray some paint.
I think it should be fine with the weight, I moved the axles back about 6", then...
