    Mounting Split Rims w/tires

The four A2's on the truck, I used RTV on new O-rings, which are smaller than the A1 O-ring. It's been 24 hours and so far none of them have lost pressure, so hopefully they will be OK with the RTV, rather than lube. I tried using RTV on one of the A1 rims, but I didn't expect it to hold air...

    Mounting Split Rims w/tires

3/8 O-ring sounds about right. The pic of the rim is what I believe to be the A1 rim (5/8 bolt), the others on the truck are A2's (3/4 bolts)

    Mounting Split Rims w/tires

I have both the A1 and A2 rims, I just got for my 5 ton. I recieved new O-rings for the A2 rims, but none for the A1 rims. Does anyone have part #'s for the two kinds of O-rings, and a good supplier? Been putting 6 of these together, if anyone needs a good work out, this will do it!

    Mud flap thread?

    Show Me Your Campers!

I'm using my hybrid camper, going to put it on a 30' custom trailer on M105 axles, with a flat bed behind the camper to tow my off road buggy, then pull it with my 5 ton on 16's. Still looking for the trailer frame, axles, and 16's, but am in no hurry, so just pull the camper with my 5 ton on...

    Fathers day Camouflage job

Solar Maintaner. I was walking thru Menards last weekend, and they had some 12V solar maintaners on sale, so I figured why couldn't I run these in series to get a 24V maintaner. These were designed to be attached to the windshield of a car, and then plugged into a cigarette lighter. I didn't...

Great idea for dual circuit brakes

I'm not sure I understand your concept, but wouldn't you need to fabricate a linkage to engage the front booster? As far as the brake pressure, you could use a adjustable proportioning valve in the line. I have used a few of them on different projects, they work well.

    Pressurized Axles?

Sorry, I did a few searchs, and all I could find was pressure from fording kits.

    Pressurized Axles?

WOW, your quick! Thank you, great information.

    Pressurized Axles?

I was checking the fluid condition and levels on the 5 ton yesterday, all three axles look like the fluid was just changed, good news! Anyway, as I removed the plugs on the axles, all three axles released pressure as I was turning the plug out. It wasn't just a little amount, it seemed to be...

818 now with turbo and pics.

Excellent thread! You,ve given me inspiration for my M818. I have turboed a Ford 300 6, in my buggy, and it runs on propane, which was easier to tune than the gas. So I have the basic understanding of turbos, and from what I have read, diesels accept turbos much better than gas. Maybe I missed...

    Fathers day Camouflage job

Rather than starting a new thread, I figured I would just add to this one. Let me know if that is not the way to do it? I few weeks ago, me and my son were on our way north, towing my camper with my E350, for a long weekend on the Ausable river. Needless to say, we never made it, and left tranny...

    Fuel line leak.

I figured I would post this, in hopes it may help someone else out. I was going to take the 5 ton out for a initial drive to see how she ran and handled, after I did the crew cab, I haven't had her out since Nov. of last year. I had started her up a few times, and let her idle, and she always...

    Fathers day Camouflage job

Thank you! The truck came with brand new Radials. I have been contemplating going to single 14.5 x 20's, but it's real hard giving up 11 new T831's. Here's some interior shots, the rear seat is from a Wrangler, and so is the front driver seat, they will be getting green canvas seat covers. You...

    Fathers day Camouflage job

Unfortunately, I can't, too much mechanical work needs to be done. I dont even have the seats bolted down yet, and I found a few leaking air lines last weekend. I've been doing the cab, and haven't found time to get the mechanicals striaghtened out, it's just not safe to be on the road yet...

    Fathers day Camouflage job

Thank you Doghead. For me the crew cab was a necessity, I just could not fit comfortably in the cab. Plus now the room I have is awesome, the English Mastiff can ride in back with plenty of room.:)

    Fathers day Camouflage job

It's real different, so I don't expect everyone to like it, so I think I will be able to handle the bad press, thanks for the offer though:) It has a seat in the back, even with cutting the rear crew cab down 12", there is still plenty of room.

    Fathers day Camouflage job

My son and I spent the day finishing up the 5 ton, we added a different camouflage job, but created a lot of memories.
