Finally got to install my wheels/castors for my 803a. Purchased from Northern Tool Online. Heavy duty 5k lbs capacity that will not get flat spots. Had to use some angle to widen the base for the swiveling casters. Was easy to push even up a small grade alone. Ran my unit with the wheels locked...
So I have a 803a that I’m doing all my install work. I have worked as an electrician helper in a refinery and have a good understanding of what I need to do. I purchased Generac all in one wire 100’. I have conduit run from one building to another underground and then to my panel. I purchased a...
I work in a refinery. Ensure barrels are stored horizontally or have covers over the entire top. Water gets in even on bran new sealed barrels if not properly stored or covered. Get an aluminum or stainless tank made or find used. In my area they have many for sale for under $500.

Thanks for all the help from everyone. Went and bought 2 new AGM Batteries from Sams, $139 each. Installed one and tried it and it was my older red top that was the culprit. Took out the other Red Top and running on both Duracell AGM’s. Starts up fine.

Generator will not start. Checked Voltage on both batteries and it’s saying 14v when they are connected together. Pulled the batteries off and getting around 13v on each battery. Put batteries on charger separately and topped off. Both showing 13v. Hooked back up together on generator and still...

I have a break out panel now in service for my gas standby. I’ve done the math and with soft starts on my ac units and load shedding i will stay in the constraints of the 803. And I’m not sure what cost prohibitive means to me. My house is all smart controlled(every light, pool equipment and ac...
An ATS with load shedding is done on every whole house generator that is done around here. They spec out a 22kw a 200 amp ATS. So not Shure why you say I can’t do that with the MEP-803a???

Not sure what part of the county your in but down here, the inspection is no way like you speak. The guy ask for no documentation and just collects your money.

I’m in the building stage now. Once it is wired I will determine if load shedding is needed. According to my calculations and using soft starts on my AC I may only need my pool equipment to be disabled during running. Thanks for all the info.

Not getting a permit. It’s a portable generator. This genset will run my entire house with soft starts on my 3 AC units.

I had a generac 22kw specked for my house and they were using a 200amp ATS and everything I read is ATS must match panel main amp. I even had the code enforcement look at specs and install and they said it was good.
