No, we all hate each other.😁 I used to meet with 4 or 5 members around eldersburg but we haven't for a while. The nice thing is you can usually find parts or help from someone local via the classified section of the site.
Changed the oil and converted to spin on filters using jatonkas adapters. No more cringing while waiting for oil pressure to build. Also added a battery disconnect switch and installed a boost gauge.
Correct. The lower ear has to be mounted the way it is therefore the upper ear has to be on that side of the adjustment bracket. I'm not really worried about the clearance because A, the fan doesn't flex and B, even if it did flex it would move away from the nut since it is pulling air not...
Broke all the lugs loose and rotated a few tires, Changed the Trans and transfer case oil (GL-1), Adjusted the brakes, Swapped over from the generator to an alternator, Greased it, and Replaced a headlight. Good thing I took the week off work, I had better things to do.
Change the oil. Rotella 15/40 is good. If that doesn't fix it, install a good mechanical test gauge where your OP transducer is and get an accurate reading. Then go from there.
Delco 21-si. Also, you'll need one of these "2 groove diesel truck alternator pulley 3-1/8 dia. 7/8 bore"
Edit: Also I should probably note that the clearance between the fan and shaft nut is only about a quarter of an inch. You can maximize this distance by loosening the stock generator...
This morning around 4:30 while out with the dog I smelled the faint but unmistakable smell of electrical burning. I walked by the deuce and caught a strong whiff. I disconnected the batteries and started looking in the cab and under the hood. Yup, you guessed it, stupid Generator. Lucky it...
I know this thread is nearly 2 years old, but thanks for all the info. My hmmwv gen decided to see how much voltage it could produce today. Luckily it didn't fry anything. I ended up removing the belts to get home. I just ordered the 21-si and the pulley tkdtim suggested. I may do the same on...
Hi everyone I have a quick question about different styles of alternators. My new a2 has a leece-neville 60a generator which I assume is an older style since I can find less information on it than the prestolite 60a. My question is do the have a replacable end bell (voltage regulator) like the...
