A few questions.
1. Do the M342 and M35A2 share the same chassis / wheel base?
2. How long is the bed?
3. Does anyone have a pic of the backend that shows the tailgate?
4. Did they come with troop seats?
5. Did they come with a tarp?
Reason I'm asking is being a Combat Engineer a dump...
You made the NBC nightly news man!!! There was a quick glimps of the front of your truck. I only noticed because of the big tan block on the left side of your bumper and the licence plate on the right. Don't worry. The shot was too far away to recognize your plate number. Your cop friend...
Where are the air horns normally mounted? Mine are missing and the solenoid too I believe. The sick little electric horn still works but you can't hear it over the engine idling. I have a set of air horns off a different truck I'm going to install.
Re: RE: Crewcab plan
That might look better but I want a crew cab not extended cab. Look at where the seats sit now. They are tight against the back of the cab. If I cut the donor cab where I chalked in the picture I'm right about where the floor pan angles up. That by it'sself is cutting...
I'll be there Sept 13 to 17. If you haven't picked it up yet and need eyes on it let me know. I might be able to break away from training and take a look.
It could have been. It has a std 12' bed bed it looks like the frame has been cut. The last crossmember looks like the one the suspension should go directly under. The axles had to have been slid forward plus stretched to run 52's.

I found this for sale in the latest Northern Tool catalog. The link above is for a place that sells them for a lot less money.
I rarely lock mine in town or at work. When I do I still use the chain on the steering wheel. I do keep the engine stop handle out. The biggest reason is if my kids climb in it the master switch can't be flipped and the starter engaged. It might also deter gawkers.
Reminds me of the time...
RE: More pictures. 1968
It's interesting you made the comment about the trucks seeing combat. That was one of the first questions a friend asked me when I brought it over to his house. I'm not a picture taker. I have very few pics of Army stuff. Just another day at the office. When you...
Ever since getting the MV bug I've wanted to do a crewcab. I have four kids so anything I do will be enjoyed more if everyone can participate. My first GL purchase was a new cab tub never put into service. It managed to get caught in both major snow storms last December on it's voyage from...
You mean like this one? $5000. 1954 multifuel it has a bad radiator which lead to a head gasket leak.
You buy it and I'll drive it down to you in January the next time I have to go to Ft. McClellan...if it has a heater!!!!!!
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: 6 Wheels vs. 10 WheelsthereT
Can we start a new folder on the forum just for wheels and tires??? I have a hard time finding old threads and with all the discussion about widening, making your own, or anything else about dual vs single it would be nice to have them in a...
RE: Re: trans gear ratio math, etc
OK, I'm retarded. The whole purpose of your project is to make things spin faster than the engine!!!! It just took that long for it to sink in. I'm thinking more about tomorrow's trip to Canada fishing than gears.
m-35tom, I hear ya but I'm not tracking. Assume 1000 rpm input speed. 29 tooth gear at 1000 rpm driving a 42 tooth = 690 rpm. The 42t gear is mated to the 48t gear which also must be turning at 690 rpm. If this is true then the 48t gear is speeding up the 22t gear. I'm still getting 1505...
