Re: RE: overloaded??
Our 10 ton's and 916's all ran the big pin. The pin just slides into the hole from the top and lifts as you set it down. I would suppose a 2" pin is available but all the trucks that have winches have the big pin. Not sure about HEMMT tractors.
I would assume the HET has air connections in the front for towing. Might be a delay all those brakes working off the HEMTT but they'd work. Like Armyman said. If it's got to be moved it will be moved. Just not fast.
I had to hook to an M870 trailer with my M123. The winch was out so we...
Word is $500 it ran recently but the clutch is out. Haven't talked to the guy personally. My friend knows I have a deuce asked if I wanted another. PM me if you want his phone number.
Wouldn't it be simpler to use an alternator with intergral regulator like most GM units? They use a single positive wire to the battery. I do like the relay to turn 12v accy's on.
My truck had plywood ends. They used short pcs of angle iron bolted to the front bow. They also had a second sliding rear window front a hard top mounted in the plywood so you could have both windows open.
I'm a canvas guy just for the smell alone. I picked up a 5 ton plastic cover cheap. I like the integrate front flap to keep the elements out. I don't like the rear flap cause it seems like a pita and can't be stored as well as the canvas end curtains that can be removed al together. The...
RE: Otter snowmobile
I spoke to a guy last night in MN who says he has one that is being restored and almost ready for paint. I hope to get over to his shop sometime. Have to bring the camera.
Mine did the same thing. It was the one thing that suprised me picking it up that it even had a working parking brake much less one that held. It's 5/16 x 24 threads. I just bought a nylock nut so it wouldn't move and used a fender washer. Works fine.
I need the height and width of a front door.
Well ya know I do have this outhouse for hunting but I have some air flow issues I'd like to get under control. Maybe I'll hang the doors backwards (suicide) for a quick exit. Yes it's for a HMMWV.
First off grade 5 is grade 5 if it truely meets spec. I'd guess a std grade 2 bolt will rip the worm gear out. The only thing that might work is to cut two slots in a steel bolt so the diameter is reduced so the shear strength of that cross section is the same as full diameter aluminum. That...
Since we are both in Minnesota we might be able to tackle the preluber. I work for a pump company. We make two different pumps that will pump hot oil, 280 and 375 degrees depending on the model. They are used with AC powered C-faced motors. I do have access to a couple different 12 VDC...
What would be a fair load test of the front winch? The shear pin was out of my truck. I found some 7mm (.276") aluminum rod and want to give it a test. I'm thinking of paying out about 75' of cable and hooking onto my friend's 6200lb Bobcat with rubber tracks. It should give me a decent load...
It was a bit chilly last night when I fired mine up to move it. Once again it popped right off. The first thing I thought of was how these will start with little to no help in sub zero temps. Back in the line company the only things that would start below zero were a 5 ton multi and 10 ton...
