RE: M578
Hearing you rev that up a bit brings back memories!!!!! Mine had a single exhaust. Duals out the side will ward off all traffic. Once you get it ready to roll you need someone to follow along side about 35-40 mph to show what it looks and sounds like underway.
Those will do thanx.
Has anyone scored a bridge boat yet? Even though I'm not a charlie I'd really like to have a bridge boat. I can say one of my compadres has water skied the Euphrates behind a bridge boat!!!
I need a picture of an M139 or M812 from the side. Nothing angled but perpendicular to the truck. It's easier to photoshop that way. I'm entertaining an idea and need the pic.
I just got my M1 from CMP. Haven't got to shoot it yet but it looks real nice. I'm a bit torn about the new CMP stock it came with. Part of me like the new wood and another would have liked an original even in poor condition.
RE: Re: 14:00-24 or 16:00-24 tires?
10 ton lug pattern is larger than a std 10 bolt but it would be worth if you are right on $1K per tire and 20" rims clear the brakes to modify 20" rims. I luckily never had a flat on my 10 ton so I don't know what's behind the wheels.
Most of those trucks are civilian versions of the Russian military trucks. Ewan McGregor did a motorcycle trip around the world. They were in Eastern Siberia during the thaw and couldn't cross a raging stream. One of the truckers tried it and immediately buried the front end in the swift...
I calculated the M870 with M916A1 weighs in around 52K empty. D7's run 55K depending on ripper or winch versions. Never hauled a D8. It does handle 110K loaded quite well.
I'm still undecided on the A3 trailer. Yes the fold down version gets a lot of dirt on the 5th wheel plate but the A3...
Try looking at their web site. It shouldn't matter what rim style you have. They make different styles but they work the same. I know on larger tires they have a counter mine style that will help divert a land mine blast away from the truck. Not an issue hear but another random tid bit of...
RE: XM211/M108 hybrid pic
Slightly off subject but has anyone ever bobbed a 135/211? There's been a few for sale nearby that I wouldn't want to atempt to restore but would make a good bob project.
RE: Re: RE: Look how clean this 1999 M35a3 is on GL
Hey, this is like looking into a mirror with a mirror. Eveytime I click on the link I get de ja vu!!!!!!!
And fyi there's two on a supporting vendor's website.
Mine was setup like Stan's. They normally do this to maint, supply, or mess trucks to give added space especially when they spend a lot of time standing in the back of the truck.
Welcome swatter. Get a set of std springs. Fronts off another 211 might be tough to get. Not sure if M35 fronts would work. If you need a stricker for your torch let me know. Paint it candy apple with crushed velvet interior. Maybe some dingle balls over the windshield!!!!
I've had no problems running 55 mph on the interstate. It works best if you have a couple duffle bags in the loader bucket. The HMEE will replace it. Looks pretty bad. Basically a JD 410 on steroids.

Re: RE: Here
What he said. My squad had an 8' wide, 8' tall, and 12' long hooch built on ours. We had brackets on the front for concertina and J hooks all down one side to hang an extra tarp off. Our whole squad could sleep inside and under the tarp. If you have a truck with singles on it...
When I was in a line unit in Wisc the only two trucks that would start on their own were the M51 multi and my 10 ton.
Great idea on the weed burner. I wonder if a setup like that but on the intake to prewarm the intake air would be a quick way to get it going?
