I like your stop test because I tried it with my 1985 M1008 being pulled behind my 6100 pound 2003 2wd Chevy extended cab 2500hd with a 6.0 gas engine.
What happend the back of my truck almost lifted off the ground.
After I changed my pants I bought a 6 inch drop hitch and then when I hit...
I would not thank much maby 10 bucks each tool only because it is military stuff. But what do I know I like fiber glass handles better because I break wood ones all the time.
I am sure some one wants them to compleat there truck.
I beleave the only thing on the truck that is 24volt is the starter and the rest goes threw that big black thing on the fire wall above the vacume pump to make the rest 12 volt.
I think the hummer has 24 volt glow plugs but not the cucv trucks and blazers
I must be lucky. I have never had one or used one, The truck just starts no mater what. Last week it was 16 here and it fired right up like always . The only thing I saw was that the glow plugs cycled 4 or 5 times after it started compaired to once or twice.
That is funny . What is more funny is that looks like a trailer that I sold 8 years ago and it was a hard to pull it with a 1984 1 ton chevy 2wd truck. Thanks for the laugh
Jump it with a screw driver on the starter or get a remote starter from your local parts store and try it directly at the starter .......if still no start and if still just a click sound pull the starter and test it with jumper cables from the battery closest to the fire wall."There is 24 volts...
Was it starting and running before you took the box off?
I have done the same to a 1010 and know there is a crap load of wires going to the box.Make sure you still have 24 volts going to the starter.
That is a great point of what happens when you do not have enough wieght on the front of a trailer or a trailer that is heavyer that the tow truck.
I pull trailers every day and see totaled out trucks and trailers atleast once every 2 months if not more because of people that have a ball on...
batteries or you have a ground problem. I would use jumper cables and put the red and black on your frame and the other red and black on you block some where just to just to make sure it is not a groung problem. It is the fastest was to make sure and It would take longer to open your hood to...
I agree with 4bogginchevys
Sounds like a starter to me if your batterys are hot and you have good grounds.I would pull the back of the starter off and look at the brushes. I use to go offroad alot and one time mine did the same thing and it was one of the brushes was sticking and not making a...
The last M1008 I got was from Kelly AFB in San Antonio and was stated to be a 3/4 ton with 227 thousand miles on it and not running. They told me it had been parked for 4 years because they never could get it started. I went and looked at it at and bid 3500 for it. I won the auction for 3250...
Nice Job on both winch mounts. Here is how I did mine and I made a snatch block just in case I realy got stuck and needed the 24,000 pounds pull.
And I have been so stuck in the past before I got a winch that 2 trucks could not pull me out.
Are you running a stock torque converter or did you put a higher stall in it. I have been thinking about getting a higher stall torque converter for my 1008 so that it has more power off the line pulling heavy loads.
I have a bone stock M1008 with 30,000 miles now that would not spin the rear...
