One small caveat to that great advice, if your truck has a GVWR of 10K even if it is a 4 speed it will have 10K (A1) half shafts and brakes.
If it has a GVWR of 10.3K then it is pretty much a straight up A2 truck.
BTW that is a good thing (10K) as the A2 half shafts start around $550 ea. where...
I don't mean to knock it, it was a great movie but now all I see are multiple, multiple errors,
They did use as much "real" footage as they could but there are Japanese dive bombers coming in for an attack with no bombs etc.
The footage of the B25s approaching Japan to bomb showed there were...
Every couple decades I re-watch the movie Midway.
This time I saw a ton of obvious errors, jeeps without windshield wipers, stuff like that.
But this antenna and mount is hilarious! :ROFLMAO:
A couple not so good things.
The intake is open right under the hood drip line so the engine has likely ingested some rain.
And the way the engine is painted looks like a rebuild, likely a Melton and they have a very poor reputation.
Hopefully all that means nothing!!!
I purchase a 1993 M998 from GP and it had the original 1993 tires on it, so that may be more common than one would think.
Also your inst. panel does not look molested so that is likely the "original" speedo, usually if it has been replaced you can tell because even if they started out with the...
Is it possible someone tried to adjust the idle using the tach error and now it is idling too slow? I have had many alternators (non military) over the years that would not "kick in" at idle that worked just fine other than that so as long as it starts charging when the engine RPM is raised I...
The HMMWV is known for having brakes that chatter, likely because the brake discs are not mounted directly to a wheel and tire ass which would naturally damped the high frequency chatter, it is usually mostly common to the rear brakes.
One trick we used to do back in the 70s on our motorcycles...
I do not know of any specific test you could do to prove the TCM was bad but lets recap.
1, You can put the TCM into diag. mode so the TCM is getting both sources of power it needs to work. (continuous 12V and switched 12V)
2, You can disconnect a sensor that should set a code and turn on the...

If it had been I doubt they would have just received minor injuries
Glad to see someone plugging those holes, I actually have the factory intake port caps for the heads, they have very small slits in them so you can turn the motor over, :)
I install a GPS speedo in my HMMWVs, never heard of a GPS tach.
The cure for the error with the 400A alt is to replace the alt with a 200A or the the pulley on the 400A alt, that 400A is a beast and causes other issues with shorted harnesses and failed mounting bolts.
