Specifically with the adapter trays they fit. Without the trays they do not fit without shimming, lifting and other work to fit them in the 6TL footprint.
Post a picture of what you have when you open it up. The latest locking tab kit is fine as RWH says. I prefer the kit from Blue Hummer since I -know- it won't come off. The nut is a pain and are different sizes depending on which system is currently installed. Don't expect to finish it the day...
Those instructions will probably not work exactly for the HMMWV. The question is what style spindle seal does the truck have. There are three different spindle locking methods that have been used. This is one thing you do NOT want to mess up as your likely indication is your 150 wheel passing...
Specifically Red 272 Loctite, not the standard Red 271 - you want the high temp Loctite to go with your fresh nordlock washers. That halfshaft flange gets darn hot because it is bolted to the brake rotors.
Don't use ether. If you must use a starting aid (and you shouldn't need to) you can use a squirt of WD40 or similar into the intake (after the filter).
what you have learned is that mechanical fuel pumps suck poorly. You have to crank and crank and crank to suck the fuel up to the pump, then up...
Correct. The 2-piece wheels used on the HMMWV require either a beadlock or a run flat insert to use safely. There is no safety bulge to keep a deflated tire on the rim, the lip is not designed to retain a tire when deflated, nor is there the recessed area in the rim to allow mounting a tire...
different heads (pre-combustion cup different), different injector pump, and different compression ratio. The 6.5's have the boss you could drill and mill for the oil passage for the turbo, but flipping one to turbo would be a lot of work. If you need more power the fuel injection pump can be...
Depending on the vehicle, The VIC-3 / VIS system usually takes its power from an accessory power out on the radio tray and that tray is usually wired to the battery. In some larger vehicles the -20 implies there is a surge protector feeding the radio tray.
At a minimum you need a "lite" MCS (Master Control Station) and a FFCS (Full Function Crew Station, power, two highway cables and ANR headsets with bailout cables.
I see highway cables, headsets, bailout cables on auction sites. FFCS and MCS (or MCS lite) seem to be rare.
Good place to start...
The dampener is the large assembly at the end of the crankshaft, the bottom-most assembly on the engine which has the pulley's bolted to it to drive the other accessories. The engine cannot be run without the dampener without causing potential damage (note to those with test stands). Inspect...
The fact it comes after the A2! <grin>
they havent made made ambulances that I know of since the A2 chassis. The A3 looks to be based on the ECV/REV chassis and will have the latest three-piece frame rails, upgraded brakes, and likely the GFD cooling system.
Edited: looks like a armored 2-door...
Sure is. Was there last week (well on the outside). They are currently producing trucks for Mexico and export countries, plus a few c-series for export as well. Hopefully with this A3 contract AMG and core parts we need for our trucks will be available for a long time!
Recommended. Eventually you will break a hard-line doing pad service. The flex lines are awesome. bluehumer.com sells flex lines kits that aren't military obviously but add even more length so you can rest the caliper on the ground out of the way when you are working on them.
The early "supplemental armor" added layers of armor over the basic x-door and thicker plates in the sills, rear area and hood. Supposedly it provided basic small arms protection (not just frag) but I've never found a rating of the protection. No way it's stopping a .50 but I could see it...
Basically there is no rear suspension give without 1500 lbs in the back - so in effect it's a solid suspension with no give that tends to break things. You can change the rear springs / spring seats to the variable rate rears and the shocks to a lighter duty - makes it a much better ride. It's...
Close-up pictures of the HMMWV on the WIDE U-Haul trailer. Note there are TWO different car trailers - you need the 7500 lb trailer - it's a lot wider. There is NO WAY you would fit the HMMWV on the smaller trailer.
The drivers fender hinges out of the way - but it doesn't actually make the trailer wider - it's for reducing height so you can open a low-sill door - not a problem with the HMMWV doors...
