Any thoughts on what to check? What I have done so far....
1. Checked for leaks....none found
2. Replaced drier unit with a known working unit
3. Disabled CTIS
just drove it a couple weeks ago with no problem, and if I rev her up to 2,000 rpm and hold it, can get up to ~70-80 psi, but...
Like most MV's, these things suffered from lack of use. The air system is full of valves..With the other mechanical elements you will be checking, make sure the truck airs up and that you can hit the brakes multiple times without losing all your air.......
I had this issue...there is a button on your fuse board (lower left) that is called something like "starting interruptor?" (Not at my truck so cannot recall or look at exact phrase).
as far as I can tell, it is just an on/off switch. This was giving me the same symptoms as what you describe...
I do two things.....take off fuel filter housing, top off with diesel and replace. Take one of the fittings off the tank and with an air hose, inflate tank until you hear a burp, then replace fitting before air leaks out. Make sure your batteries are charged, shut-off is not engaged and crank.
I had a similar problem, and after looking at almost all of the check valves, no change. I checked my air dryer, which was full of goo and changed desiccant, etc..
Not it sure what happened, but problem went away. I attribute it to air dryer, but who knows. I know I drive / use it much...
Can anyone point me in the direction for head bolt torque details? Scoured the tech manual.....had everything but that. (also searched prior postings).
Have a 923 that had new? Engine installed before decommissioning, and after 2 oil changes and water in oil both times, am going to start...
Is your 923 an 8.3? I've got constant smoking on an 8.3, but I believe good compression as it fires up immediately, but believe it has suffered from sitting and / or ether use.
Didn't realize until I opened the box, but nothing is going to fail due to water or vibration on the controller. The box is completely encased in potting....which makes it virtually unbreakable and unfixable.
That is not a coolant hose. This is the output of your turbo that forces air into the cylinders.
If if this fails, you won't run right and you could ingest dust and debris into your combustion chamber. I don't understand why there is such misalignment with turbo outlet and intake...
