I paid half...$350 versus $700 quote, but I had a wrecker come out ($250) and will have that expense again, since they are non-runners.
naturally, hauling two on one trailer minimizes the per unit cost, and that was my plan until the driver changed it!
Purchased a couple non-running m923's at the last auction. Worked with a veritread broker to get them back.....the truck driver decided to only bring 1, and now I am on the hook and looking for some options to recover the second.
Does anyone have a load in the general vicinity that they would...
Mine does the same thing.....and although I took that valve apart, still haven't found the source. Regardless, can you identify the source for your valve once you replace?
Valve to piston impact is due to non-specification geometry, either a part is out of spec (cylinder head, con-rod, etc) or something was modified beyond acceptable tolerances (machining of cylinder head fire deck or block, incorrect machining and replacement of valve seat as a couple examples)
With impact, should be able to remove nut, then pulley.....(you might have to rotate idler or loosen bolts on alternator to take tension off belt).
you should be able to pulley off at that pint. Your key might have sheared, and if the pulley's I.d. Is all gummed up (or shaft)...you'll have to...
If you are referring to the alternator pulley, it's hard to imagine how you would shear the key......you ought to take a picture and throw it on the site. To replace an alternator pulley, you would need to remove the nut that hold the pulley on. To do this, an impact wrench is ideal.
do you...
If you consider how much weight these trucks can handle and how much we m939 series owners haul, the suspension is never put to use. When I hit rough patches with my cargo truck, the whole back will jump around. Like other members have stated, that's the nature of the beast.
Can't swear to it, but the GP guys at Riley are really decent and might.
i would call up the GP contact you will meet at Riley and ask him if he has any issues with your plan.
I changed my oil a few weeks back, and it was a pain. The other item to be aware, adding oil to the fill tube (which is extremely long) requires giving it time before checking dip stick.
I've got the exact same truck....its awesome and you're going to love it. I've got about 400 miles of driving on mine and it is a blast. Congratulations.
When you think of the amount of electrical demand on this alternator and compare to hours of use, I've got equipment with smaller alternators, greater loads, and 10x the hours and still going strong. Hard to reconcile.....
Was going to take my A2 on a road trip, got about 15 miles away and started smelling something burnt. Pulled over and could determine source the alternator.
got back in to go back home, and voltmeter drpped into yellow...and stayed there.
when I got back, I turned off top lever, and engine...
