I was talking to a few people at Aberdeen this past week and I heard someone say downshifting the multifuel motor was not good. It seems the theory is these motors do not handle using the engine compression to slow the truck down. What are your thoughts?
Pinkie rolled in about 10:20pm last night, only 20 minutes later then my plan was. The old truck ran good! We hit NO rain I heard the northern guys got beat pretty good. Dakota Fear said the rain was awful going through PA. As I sit hear typing I can only think of how nice it was to see...
I second the mention of the m35 running alot better at 180 then 120. Engines are designed to run at certian temperatures. If your truck is running to low (lower then 160 or so) check your thermostat and make sure its not stuck open, I know mine is. If thats not it create a wind block for the...
I would check all the fluids, brakes, axle, t case, transmission, bleed the brakes and drive it. If its running and stopping you should be fine. At least I was with mine.
Boy I created a stir! I checked the "exciter" wire which is the small wire that feeds the alternator. You should have 24 volts with the master switch on. After that you should have 27-28 volts at the batts. If not then I would guess you either have a ground problem, which is common, or the...
BUT if oil is on the frame rails and axle, they will not rust! I have a dribble tube on a DT466 and a 3208 that will mist when hot and pulling, this is normal.
I have been trying to track down and charging problem for 2 days. The first problem was the batteries were junk, got new batteries. The truck fired up quick! I tested the voltage at the batts with the truck running, 24 volts. I tested the exciter wire (small one) going to the alternator and...
I drove around for about 6 months without a pump but had an issue when I changed the fuel filters. I installed another pump and everything is fine. As long as the fuel system doesn't get opened you are good.
Nood juice, thats a good one. I bought my truck 70 miles away from home. I drive trucks for a living so it was not a big deal. I checked and fluids/brakes and fired it up and drove home, no problems at all! Good luck!
