Thanks AN/GRC-46. My M37 was painted red when I got it. I kind of like it that way, but would love to find a picture of a red one, with proper markings that I could emulate!
I am sure that most M37's were OD green. Did the Navy paint any of them grey? The Air Force paint any of the blue? Were any used on base fire stations painted red? would anyone have pictures of a working M37 in red military fire department colors, with military markings? Thanks
I am looking for a source that will show me the different military trailers and the specs for those trailers. (gross and tare weight, dimensions, etc.). I assume that an M100 trailer would be best to pull with my M38A1 but did the military have a trailer that could be pulled by my M37 with my...
screen print
Here is a screen print of what I see. I log in, choose forums, choose Korean to VN vehicles and get this screen. See the attachment.
aua
Well, no could attach the screen print, the message said the file was too big!
Thanks all....As I said in my first post, I was able to see and use a "new thread" button in the Tips and Tricks section. So, sorry...but I was in the Forum help pages. I can see the other sub-forums, but no button to start a new thread in the general or Korean war vintage forums. I had...
My profile says I can post, but this seems to be the only sub-forum that I can find a "new post" button. I can read the others, but can't find a way to post a new thread. Anybody know what I am doing wrong, or what is going on?
Thanks
I am thinking about running 11.00 X 16 Michelin XL tires on my M37 16" X 6.5" rims. According to the Michelin website, the 6.5" rims will be OK, but these are tubeless tires. Has anyone run them on military combat rims with tubes in them? Thanks
I have done some checking, these combat wheels are 6.5" X 16" wheels and should be able to safely mount the Michelin 11.00 X 16 XL tires that are about 38+ inches diameter.
Forgot to add, the tires I am running are Yokohama Geolanders, they are about 33.5" tall and 11" wide. I run them with tubes cause the rim is a tube type rim.
M37 combat rims
You have another choice, if you are not looking to go to really tall tires. I use the combat style rims. They are the same size rim as the "split rim" style, but the rim bolts on for easier field changes and much safer! See the picture attached.
I just tried to go the MARS site to order 4:88 gears for the "Moose" my '53 M37. Apparently they are out of business. Does anyone know where I can get a higher ratio gear set for the Moose?
Hey, just a few responses to things brought up in this thread.
1)Yep, there are long distances with no people around. That is what is great about this! I do know that I intend to have a lot of tools and parts. I am hoping to have a chase truck/camper and hopefully a car trailer (just in...
