    Down to bare bones!

Thanks for that info steelypip!. I will just be using #2 (unless the price goes so crazy that i have to pay someone to grow 10 acres of sunflower seeds for me to squeeze!) Not having any of that Big Iron, I have not had the pleasure of checking out the multi-fuel engines. sounds interesting.

    North Dakota won't except SF-97

I think i will quit bidding on trailers at these auctions and just pay a couple of hundred extra to buy it from a private party. The EUC and SF-97 and the commission charge and the wait for the EUC and the inspection and........

    Down to bare bones!

Dodgeman, like your stable of Mopars! I still am not sure about the FDC thing, but can tell you that i am going low tech on this build. I am using simple relays and toggle switches for glow plugs, intake air heater, shut down will be cable-not solenoid, throttle will be direct cable to gov...

    Down to bare bones!

I was able to drive the NPR before I removed the engine and as many components as I thought I might need. I found no indications of head cracks or other problems, though I have read about them on the 4BT/4BD engine swap forum. The oil filter will clear fine. I had to modify the oil pan. It...

    Down to bare bones!

Hey scrapdaddy- I will be posting pics. For now check out my albums on this site. I was looking for a 4 BT cummins, but found a 4BD2 isuzu (out of a NPR delivery truck). If you check the output ratings side by side, they are almost identical in size, weight, HP and torque curve, etc. Anyhow...

    Down to bare bones!

Well, you can't take it down much farther! Now I can start rebuilding. Took this picture at my buddies where the frame is waiting for sandblasting. Then a couple of coats of POR15. I have received the parts for my disc brake setup, my power steering conversion, for resealing the axles...

    M37 door skin crack repair

It will probably be me who does the brazing. It's been a couple of decades since I gas welded or brazed, what with all the neat new Mig Tig, etc. But, it sounds like a good way to repair this. It may be a few weeks, but I will let you know how it comes out.

    M37 door skin crack repair

My passenger door has a long (8") crack that is starting to star out. I seem to remember you used to be able to get replacement door skins, but Vintage Power Wagon has none and I have not found anywhere else. The only repair I can think of involves drill stopping the cracks, using a backing...

Lunette Ring to 2 Inch Ball Adapter

I have a pintle setup that has a 2" ball as the bottom part of the C shape and a regular pintle type hinged top piece. You just lock the top piece up and use it like a ball hitch, drop the top and it is a pintle hitch. It bolts on in the same pattern as the regular pintle, or you can bolt it...

Lunette Ring to 2 Inch Ball Adapter

Looks nice, but I just use a pintle hook that fits into my square tube receiver.

    MV Vandalism

What a bad deal. I never could understand vandalism, it underlies a total renunciation of the value of private property. Kind of a "if I can't have one, I will trash what you have". Anarchy? Anyhow, sorry it caught up with you. Hope insurance can make some of it right!

Has anyone here used this tool?

I have been underwhelmed by anything at HF. I did buy some cleaning supplies and such that were OK, but I don't think I would buy another tool there.
