Thank you for sharing your testing results. Is the H-370/VRC a better headset than the H-161E/U? It looks to be newer, but I have never used either headset.
Thanks again for your help. I am new to this military radio hobby and have been piecing together a system for the past couple of years. I looked through my collection of equipment I have gathered and opened the pair of H-161E/U headsets. Sure enough, they came with the CX-8650B/GR bailout...
Thank you. Good to know these are the same parts made by different suppliers. Now, I need to figure out if this bailout cable does indeed adapt a VIC-3 headset (such as the Bose T5) to the VIC-1 system (AM-1780). Thanks again for your help!
Hello,
I am slowly collecting parts to build a VIC-1 system in my truck, and I hope someone can advise me on the bailout cables. I got two 80063 SM-D-937438 bailout cables from a vendor on eBay a couple years ago, and I see there is another version of the bailout cable with number 80065...
I'm no expert here, but I thought the branch of the bailout cable with the yellow tag gets plugged into the control box port with the yellow mark (J-803). In your photo, you have it the other way. Again, I am no expert here and learning this VIC-1 stuff myself. Good luck.
Easy way - add the winter cover like Big Tom suggested. Hard way - relocate your heater into the cab under the map compartment like they have in the A3 trucks. Here's what mine looked like after I relocated it inside.
I've been collecting parts for a VRC system for a couple of years, and I'm getting close to putting everything together. I have an AM1780B/VRC and two C-10456 boxes with what I beleive are the correct cables. I scored a couple of Bose TriPort headsets that I think will work.
I saw referene...
Thank you, Dr. Porkchop. This is very helpful. Dealing with most things on my deuce is a pain, so these blocks will keep things consistent. I got them for a really good deal; this is probably because the blocks didn't have any markings on them, and the seller didn't know what he had. The...
I got two of these from a guy in Minneapolis last year - two for $100. He said they were 10 ton but wasn't certain. There are no NSNs or other markings on the blocks that I can see. I haven't used them yet, but I do want to know if I should keep them for my deuce or sell them for use with a...
I can join everyone for the planning lunch. If it's April 1st, earlier is better for me. Famous Dave's up in Coon Rapids is fine.
If the event is on a Saturday/Sunday, I can bring my M35A2C and M105. I have frequent business travel, and that sometimes keeps me away from home on a Friday.
I listed a transportation job on U-Ship to get a deuce from NC to Saint Paul, MN a few years ago. It ended up costing $1,500. I think I caught a guy heading home and needed a load to pull.
I also thought about driving my newly-purchased deuce across the country, and I am glad I didn't. The...
Ok. I read through TM 11-5830-340-12 and discovered I need CX-4723/VRC cables from the AM-1780B to the C-10456 control boxes. I got a couple of those off of EPay. Then I needed power cable CX-4720/VRC. Epay to the rescue again.
Now I need the cables from the C-10456 control boxes to each of...
Hello radio experts,
I recently picked up two Bose TriPort T5 headsets for a good deal. I want to set up a simple intercom system in my 1984 M35A2C so that the driver can talk to the passenger. I bought a used and untested AM-1780B/VRC off of EPay, and I bought two C-10456/VRC units from a...
Thanks for the photo reap, Gunner. The weather was perfect; the food was good; and the people were great. They released the date for the 2017 event, and it will be on September 9th next year.
It would be great to have both the wire number chart and schematic in the Deuce TM section. The wire number chart is also in the sticky post section for the Deuce forum.
