I'd be happy to link the documents I read if I could find them. I have a windows phone, and it's easily the worst browser I've ever used, I can't look in the history, and I somehow replaced the tab with something else.
I think the key positives of easy starting and quiet running can't be overstated for me, though. My power goes out while I'm at work a lot, and walking my wife through starting the 002 and getting her to keep trying, hold the starter switch, etc, don't seem to work. The sound of the starter...
I'll say I *really* like mine for everything except generating power and idling.
Last edit, I promise...
Compared to the 002:
Pro's:
- Starts easy. Stupid easy. I can have anyone in my household go start it while I'm at work.
- Very quiet. My distant neighbors don't hear it.
- Enclosure is...
I read in an Army or USMC publication recently that the wiring for the convenience outlets on the MEP-802a was underrated at 10 amps instead of 15 and causing fires. The solution was to immediately disconnect it until all required wiring could be replaced.
I noticed on my 802 immediately that...
Ha, you read my mind... I was just about to open up the county GIS...
And yeah, I hate that. I've picked up plenty of projects I have grand visions for. But I recognize when it's not going to happen, and I can let it go to someone that can make it happen or at least have a shot at trying. I'm...
I tried the number again and got through. 3 times yesterday and got the verizon disconnected message. Now once while I was downstairs from my office, and it went right through. It was like the verizon message was their off-hours answering machine message, I hit the same number in my phone...
This one still has the army markings on it, so I'm thinking it came straight from military service to civilian life. I've seen it there for several years, it was parked before M35 deuces were still coming out of GL cheap. He probably got it pretty cheap because demand was higher for the M35...
I've wanted it since I first saw it, but have been weaning down my lust for a machine like this lately as I have way too many unfinished projects. If it were for sale and I could afford to buy it and then afford to move it, I'd do it, but it would sit and wait, I wouldn't even attempt to start...
I've seen this Deuce parked in the same spot for several years. I asked a few neighbors about it, and no one knows anything (or claim not to). I thought I saw a thread about it once on here, but can't find it by any of the keywords I think might be relevant.
Anyone here know this one? I'm not...
I just load tested mine the other night.
I have to get an ammeter on it or an ohmmeter on my element, but with a 4500 watt water heater element, it started at 40%, then went down to 25% as it heated up. I tacked on a second element just for the heck of it, and she bogged right down and...
I've discovered that the private market around PA/NJ/NY is pretty much saturated with milsurp generators. I can't imagine VA is not also, being fairly close.
2 massive hurricanes, a couple ice storms, and various other power outages have driven GL prices up by both individuals and enterprising...
I won two large containers once by bidding my max acceptable on each. That was fun. It took over a year to sell one, but in the end, it paid for itself and the other one.
Good luck with two of these trucks, and I hope all goes well with your wife. I know I'd probably have to sleep in them if I...
Yikes, that's pricey. But, it does solve your problem if there's no forklift at the base. You might end up really screwed if you have to leave one there and they decide to charge you $100 per day for storage or something.
That's a pretty long haul. I can understand why you'd want to get it...
1 kw = 1.3 hp, so 10kw = 13hp. 17hp gives it head room up to 13kw, but I think its probably capable of a little more. I'd think if you're going to increase the rpm via pulley reduction, you'd need to know the engines torque output, which is probably pretty good as a diesel.
Sounds like an...
I don't quite understand why this would happen. Is it definitely the fuel? Diesel is just air passing the intake valve and (if its running well) burning gases passing the exhaust valve, not much different than propane. Gasoline will only lube the intake if the fuel provides any lube.
I also...
I second the idea of hooking up and towing home. To be 100% legal and protected in a crash, you'll need a flatbed and to haul as cargo, but to slide a little, you'll most likely be fine just towing it.
I've had casual chats with guys loading me out about getting dueces and 5-tons home, and...
I don't know anything about Mass., but you'll probably need to get an SF97 form for another $70 from GL or the government, and use that to register. In the meantime, renting a flatbed to haul it is your best bet.
