One reason is because of the stiff springs . When you hit a bump in the road the tires will come off the ground for a moment so the tires will spin ever so slightly but you will not notice that is why you get beeter fuel milage with a partial to full load in the back of your truck
Would say that your brake light problem is the turn signal switch check that you have power going in to the switch and you will find that the power is not coming out So it will be the turn signal switch :driver::driver:
Try to see if you get voltage on the socket with the bulb in the socket if you do it is a ground problem for sure then try a peice of wire from the outside of the socket to the frame rail:driver:
Run a ground wire from the frame to the out side of the socket and see if the light works if it does check the little strap on the socket as this is the part of the ground for the light:driver:

Yes the 10 8 and 13 speed trans is the same case but the 13 has a longer back box think it is about 2.5 to3 inches longer than the others because of the extra set of gears:driver:
You can put any 855 Cummins in but you have to dail in the bell housing in to make sore that it is in the .005 to .010 so you do not have a problem with the operation of the clutch:driver:
