    M1008 on recentered H1's on 37's

A 10 gallon tank is way over kill. I've ran a 2.5 gallon tank in the past and it worked ok for using air tools. In reality, if you're not planning on running air tools then just the york is the fastest way to air up tires.

    New to CUCV

Is that number still valid? I've searched on Napa Online and it says it can't find a part associated with that number.

I thought the stock filter on a CUCV was 10 micron.

    Looking for GL bid advice

I'm one of the guys who bid on a M1009 without being able to inspect it first and I'm one of the guys who picked up my truck from Nellis and watched them first hand how they forklist the vehicles around without a care in the world. i probably got lucky as I got a nice truck. It has a little...

    CUCV-II 2000 Crew Cab

I also was a little shocked at the going price but if your happy with it, that's all the really matters!

    1009 to the rescue!

This has been debated for years in the 4wd community. You can not predict where a tow line will snap so the best thing to do is keep away from it. Putting something on the line (a jacket, etc...) is just a false sense of security, distance is your friend. A better answer is to replace the...

    Looking for GL bid advice

I just won a M1009. What I did was watch an auction that had several M1009's in it to get an idea what they were going for. When the next auction came up I had a price in my head I was willing to bid up to and I ended up getting it for that amount. Study the pictures carefully and judge what...

    Picture/parts info

I found a mount of some sort in the back of my 1009 when I got it. I think it's the radio mount, not the antenna mount. Let me get a picture of it today so you guys can tell me what it is.

    New 1009

I actually saw that truck while I was picking mine up from Nellis. Nice 1009. If Chris at Nellis is the same guy I'm thinking he is, he must have been on his good behavior that day.

    Starter started smoking

Are you getting juice to your starter? One of the reasons why I always recommend to people to buy a DVM, even if it's one of those cheap walmart ones. Troubleshooting electrical systems is soooo much easier when you actually know what is going on.

    1009 on WMO

I bet the old gasoline was most of the problem with your experiment.

    My new M1009 CUCV!

Just picked it up last week. No issues at all. You guys that are having a shipping company pick them up from Nellis for you have no idea how lucky you are if they are not damaged. They were loading a few 1009's while we were there and you guys should really check your drive shafts. I'll just...

none and I bet your 7.3 doesn't use any gas either.

    U Joint again?

I think this is one of those common problems that people think they fix. The slip shaft (don't know it's actual name) that goes inside the T-case or the yoke on the axle can be attatched to the driveshaft via the u-joint either one way or 180 degrees the other way. People "think" they solve a...

    How to find a M1008?

I really hate to be "Captain Obvious" and sound like a jerk but have you tried Government Liquidations? Other then that, craigslist (try searchtempest.com to search multiple areas) and ebay.

    CUCV 1009 daily driver?

Same here. I've always been told and practice that with a diesel, once it's started you give it a few seconds to get the oil pressure up and flowing then it's safe to drive easy for the first mile or two then gradually drive as normal. Long warm up times are just burning fuel.
