I prefer the Deuce over the larger 5 Ton. I guess some have to have the biggest they make. That is just personal prefferance, and theres good points to both. It's sort of like the Harley Davidsons, I'v always prefered the Sportster to the Hog, much more agile, much lighter, and just an all...
Whats steel up to now'a days, mabe match the price and say 10% in an offer for them. Boy what a shame to see them end existance like that when theres surely alot of good parts in those trucks.
Theres a bit in the TM's about 'hydrolock' and the damage you can do if you try to turn the motor over, sounds like you should pull the injectors and see if it will then turn over, if not I'd be thinking of a broken rod? or some internal damage. hoping for you that its just a head gasket...
snicker, snicker........funny how we all just cant leave well enough alone and not get every free thing offered to us...........now if its OD Green thats a different matter altogather
I found mine on the rear area pictured. A word of caution though, only use a wire brush on a side grinder, and not a sander or you may loose the numbers all togather, sometimes their not stamped any too deep into the metal of the frame
I'd just add to 'JONES' directions that it would be best also to use a large enough torch to cut through it quickly, in that a too small of a torch will take a bit more heating before you put the oxygen to it and it is cutting away at a good clip.My thinking is that a too small a torch will heat...
Since you mention it, when I start, I have one rocker arm slightly taping when cold, as it warms, which is about 4-5 minuates, that is the point which I think of taking off, pluss I needen't go quickly to higher throtle right away as its all rural and that afords me a slow acent to speed.
I have a couple questions about the turbo on the Deuce. #1. Is there an oil or additive that would be beneficial to de-coke the bearings and internals of the turbo? like say.....Lucas or Mystery or some injector cleaner or what-not? I always time my shutdowns, typically with the last bit of...
I'm guessing I know what the blackout lights look like on the Deuce, the little shrowd'ed light on the driver front? But on the rear of the Deuce, on the taillight housings there are just the little clear lenses, what do the little inverted Y shapes mean? I suppose you could re-install them...
Here, here........He's right !!! on the same note, instead of either, you can pull the mushroom AIR CLEANER CAP ans pour a shot-glass worth of raw or two-stroke pre-mix your choice, anyway a shot of gasoline is SO much more LESS damaging and works as good as either, if not better.
Can you take the pump apart to look for obvious crud or ? I mean is it worth trying that first, or is it a sealed unit type thing needing special tools?
I'v been useing used motor oil and it hasn't been strained as good as I'd like. I too put in new filters, but suspect it is rapidly cloging them up too. It still runs fine, but at idle, every so often it 'dips' for a microsecond and then its fine for a bit. I suspect the filter under the...
I hate you, I hate you, I hate you.........no I guess I'm just JELOUS Now comes to mind that sarcastic question by the neighbors (WHAT YOU GOING TO DO WITH THAT THING ?) Good Score, we're all jelious here......
Just a guess, but i'd say 3-500 for a steel one OEM and they do make them in fiberglass now aftermarket, but seems their spendy. I think the OEM looks the best on the Deuce. Saturn Surplus has the fiberglass for $875.00
I really like the cooler truck the last one, the COE model. I'v had several 49 Dodge pu trucks, all workhorses, tough as nails, I remember only having to buy a waterpump and tires in all that time, with an occasional light bulb or belt. Great movie/documentary.
Just wondering if thats a mineral or an oxide formation? Muriatic acid in a coffee cup to a five gallon bucket used to work as a ratio acid/water mix. Mabe a quart of acid to a full tank would work. It really does a job on oxides (RUST) or minerals like calcium salts. However the time you leave...
$74.50 from Saturn. Yea it's a bummer to fork out that much, but afterwords you could sell it on the Forum classifieds and be pretty much returned most of your outlay for it, or keep it.
