That's impressive. Do you know the diameter of 15.5s? Maybe I should purchase a set. They must be larger than the 395s.
With my 46.7" Dia 395/85R20s I'm only traveling @ 61 MPH @ 2,500 RPM. I'd have to run 2,800 RPM to get up to 70 MPH.
13 MPH @ 70 MPH pulling a 105 trailer is outstanding.
I removed the tube that goes between the air breather canister and the turbo inlet and checked the spool for end play of roughness. The bearings feel good. There wasn't any sticky oil on the inlet turbo blades that I could access via the tube opening. I put it back together and tightened and...
This morning I noticed a couple of dried black oil stains on my turbo. Note the two long black lines on the intake side of the turbo. I should note that the two oil streaks are not bad enough to drip off the bottom of the turbo
We pulled the elbow casting that goes between the turbo and intake...
After spending a lot of time looking into synthetics I tend to agree. Given the winter temperatures up here if anyone should be running synthetics I probably should --- but I don't. We don't run these trucks guys. The fuel savings I would realize isn't worth the invesement. I "do" think that 50W...
Fill the pipe full of empty Coors cans. When you start up, rev her up to 2600. When the empty cans (make sure they are empty) come flying out they will clean the inside of the pipe. If you need any help emptying the cans call me. Hey --- what are friends for :-D
YES ... There is a major problem with the winch.
Scruffy looking teenagers keep showing up wanting me to extract them out of the mud.
Outside of that --- no problem
A lot of the logging roads in Northern Minnesota are now completely locked down to the public (including ATVs) because some idiot came in with a jeep or pickup and rutted them all up. A deuce can do some really serious damage. I would think finding private land owners that would allow someone...
If memory serves me properly, the LDS engine has different pistons than the LDT --- It has to do with oil cooling. I believe the cam and injectors are also different. The pump, heads, intake and exhaust manifold are the same --- the pump is turned up. The LDS sonds different than the LDT.
As atated above --- before looking anywhere else check "change" the filters.
Oil seapage on the passengers side of the block can be normal. Change the filters.
395s on a bobbed deuce work great! When I first got my truck it had 1400s. My opinion is that 1400s will tax an LDT with stock fuel...
I installed two fuel pressure gauges. The first gauge reads the pressure between the fuel tank pump and the primary fuel filter. The second reads the pressure after the primary filter. I did this so I could determine if a primary filter was starting to ice of plug "hopefully" before it shut the...
Yes --- I've ran what I call the "thumper" pumps.
I quit using mine and bought a stock in-tank pump from Olympic Controls for approx $250.00 when I realized that the in-line thumper pumps don't put out sufficient flow to keep the fuel pressure in the required 3 to 5 PSI range.
The TMs say...
Thanks again guys.
I kind of figured that the area on the fenders around the stack area was a "normal" rust area.
The saddle joint area was particularly interesting. Who would have thought it! Thanks for the heads up.
I've always felt there are patterns for specific trucks (in this case...
Thanks,
One of the trucks I'm looking at has rust on the fender between the exhaust stack and the body. I just wondered of that was common. The doors and rocker pannels look good.
Sometimes specific trucks have common rust areas. For instance, M37s always rust under the head lights...
