FINALLY drove it home today. :naner:First real drive over 2 miles. Stopped halfway home,
checked everything and brought it home. I know 25 miles isn't a big trip, but it was
with a truck I don't know much about. But.....we made it!!!
Doesn't matter I drove 45-55 mph. Even did a hot restart...
We had an extremely slow day at work, so I worked on the truck this afternoon.
Did the Doghead relay, cleaned battery cables and grounds. Tightened belts,
checked bulbs, fixed wires. I think alt 2 is slow, no gen2 light, and the bulb
checked out good with an ohmmeter. Man I can't wait to get...
Swiss, I'm sure I will. It's not in the 73-87 catalog, I found it in the 68-72 catalog.
I used a very similar harness on Hondas to put in HID headlights, no problems
and lots of peace of mind. One less thing to worry about.
"Note" my switches were missing.
Been lurking a while, I put the 2 switches for the blackout lights in the 1008 today. I got
lights now!!!! And the horn works!!! I didn't know how much stuff goes through the
headlight switches on these trucks.
Yup, mine shifted hard at 35 then also at 40. I put on a new piece of rubber line, and she shifts real nice, 25 then 35. Feels like a different truck.
I love a 50 cent fix.[thumbzup]
Got the trailer home today. This thing pulled like it was part of the truck. Had a 60 Mile
one way trip, got pulled over by one of Ohio Highway Patrol's Finest Officers.
Where's Your Trailer Plate??????????
Just bought it, Sir.....
Basically, after the checking of the paperwork, was told to...
I'm going to chime in here, This is an interesting discussion. I do know not to mix different
grades of brake fluids. However I have seen dot 3 swapped out to dot 5 on several cars
that have gone thru our shop, and haven't really seen bad side effects. BUT I would
flush the system completlely...
If I understood the fella correctly, he kind of put this one together out of the leftover stuff from
making an A1, A2, and an A3 as mint as possible. I think it looks better in person.
Let me get it home so i can go over it.
Lesson #1. If you buy a Harbor Freight Tow Light Kit, PLEASE check it...
Thanks!!!
Purpose? Scrap hauler, mostly.
It would make a sweet camper if I had time to go camping.
But, I always wanted one and I got a truck again, so when it
showed up on craigslist I grabbed it. I hope the brakes work
well, i bought an m101a3 trailer today, picking up next week. can't wait, and its
a nice one. as long as the truck holds up we are good, lets all hope for the best!!!!
