    Emergency help with dead deuce

That is a good question. Got me scratchin my punkin... One theory would be that some stuff might be floating in the fuel and when you run out, it is able to get in the siphon. I doubt this really causes many plugged filters but who knows? Better theories out there?

Good work to all who helped and OP too. The part about "dont panic. stop and think things through" we all have to remember that from time to time. It will get you far.

Would a bolster trailer be a good place to start? Might be a dumb idea but it looks like something a feller could haul a missile on.

    1971 M35A or 2001 M35A3?? Need opinions!

Well most of us know a ton of pros and cons of those 2 trucks and if not ya better search and read. Lots of threads and good info. 1 thing stands out for me about the A2 is the ability to push or pull start it. I just like that about a manual trans if all else fails.

    R.I.P.--LIFER--Charles Briggs

Back in mid April '11 before Lifer wrote his "Winding Down" thread, I had posted something in one of the tornado threads that Lifer responded to a few posts later. This is what I said. "I have yet to see a tornado-funnel cloud. Whenever they are likely to form, I am out there with the digital...

    Deuce alternator dead

Recently I had helped a fellow member recover a deuce at Fort McCoy. His 109 had no voltage output from the alternator. One thing I noticed about the truck is that it had a battery disconnect which broke the ground. The batteries were switched off when we got there. Once that was figured out, we...

    Help at Ft. McCoy

UPDATE on Tom's progress....... at about 10 AM central time on Friday, he called from the 1/2 way point which must be around Rapid City SD. He was just wondering what oil to buy for adding and what gear oil as well. It was very good to hear that he had no probs at that point and was continuing...

    Help at Ft. McCoy

Here is some shots of us and the trucks at Kwik Trip in Sparta. It was high time for a cold pop and some chips for the ride home. One little part of the trip that had me worried was we got off 90 to take 52 into Rochester to get those batteries at Fleet Farm. My truck died at the intersection...

    Help at Ft. McCoy

Well it was a long day of deuce recovering. PM's truck had the usual dead batteries and a lil something else. A dead alternator. My truck took the longest to prepare as we tried to bleed the brakes first without the MC replacement. Got pedal pretty fast but the old MC was leaking like a sieve...

    Help at Ft. McCoy

It could be interesting. I gotta agree with that. I have been in touch with papamoose and I am going to meet him there in the morning. I have a deuce there too that has needed to be picked up for awhile. Mine had no brakes when I went there the first time. Thats a long story but now I am going...

    Brake Help

Matt, you will prob need to bleed the brakes like Heavysteven said. I would strongly recommend building a pressure bleeder like in this thread http://www.steelsoldiers.com/deuce/3229-deuce-power-bleeder-r4x4-style.html helps alot. Then bleed like the TM tells you . That bleeder will make it much...
