Thats a good point about the licence being excessively high because of the excessive weight of the 817. Other then that, I too am a farmer and if I could haul enough gravel in one load to fix my driveway, the only thing the truck would be good for is rallies and parades...
I am curious as to know if this was your problem lifting the motor or if the thing was soooo heavy that the loader would stop lifting. (would be my guess) What kind of tractor and loader were you using here and is it the same one as you wound up using to do the swap?
Joseph, I JUST came in from the shop and replaced my primer pump o-rings as suggested to me by 73m819. Woke my formerly useless primer pump right up. Took about 15 minutes. They were 012 o-rings in my set.

That does sound like a good place to start. Other then that, you must have an airleak that for whatever reason, only exists while the truck is running. Just hard to hear it. Lastly, could the compressor have went out?
