Actually one of my modification desires is to re-power a 5 ton with a NTC-400, for no reason other than I think it would be cool...LOL Now that is something I can truely relate too [thumbzup]

Sounds like it is good and toast. Any thoughts on repowering the rig or do you just want to stick with the LDS multifuel engine?

    Dump truck suggestions...

Farm Truck Thats a good point about the licence being excessively high because of the excessive weight of the 817. Other then that, I too am a farmer and if I could haul enough gravel in one load to fix my driveway, the only thing the truck would be good for is rallies and parades...

Well, I blew it up on the way home.

I am curious as to know if this was your problem lifting the motor or if the thing was soooo heavy that the loader would stop lifting. (would be my guess) What kind of tractor and loader were you using here and is it the same one as you wound up using to do the swap?

    818 sucking air, tried alot

Joseph, I JUST came in from the shop and replaced my primer pump o-rings as suggested to me by 73m819. Woke my formerly useless primer pump right up. Took about 15 minutes. They were 012 o-rings in my set.

    809 series fuel issue

That is about the last thing a guy would think of. Good work. Between you nailing that issue and jasonjc posting in fuel issue threads, that one shouldnt hide too long from people anymore. Dump truck suggestions...

Hey Jeremy. I havent had a chance to use my dump truck yet, but since an opinion is like an ummm well you know what, I got one. Right away I like how high the 817 dumps. I can't see anything hanging up in that thang. I like how it steers compared to the M35 conversion idea. Steers like a dream...

Problem building air pressure > 60 PSI

That does sound like a good place to start. Other then that, you must have an airleak that for whatever reason, only exists while the truck is running. Just hard to hear it. Lastly, could the compressor have went out?

    M817 Dump Truck Project Begins

Well yesterday I took this rig for its first drive in many years (I would bet 20) and today I lifted the box for the first time and goofed around with that. Going to be a very cool truck upon completion. Sure glad I went with the engine rebuilding instead of scrapping. Since the pics I did a...
