Integrated Parts Systems - Cylinder Sleeve 2.5 Ton Multifuel= This is Clark Trucks website . According to the pic, I see rings on that there piston. I would call there and ask for Dave in parts if you were interested.
Ron,
I was wondering what you want the bed to dump for if you dont intend to use it as a dump truck. Does your application require the bed to tip as much as an 817 or not as high?
I was wondering if they got the brakes fixed and got this rig on the road. So am I understanding this right, the paint job was done within the last few days and the brakes hopefully just fixed?
Hmmmm,
Hey Ron. Just subscribing as I really dont know the answers to most of your questions. Should be good reading as some of the 5 ton guys start chiming in. I am imagine the pto and hydro pump would go on a 818. I would go with the 817 all set up already cuz that stuff would add up.
Not to discourage you from doing the detroit swap or exploring other options too, but there are sleeve and piston sets available as well as all gaskets. I didnt see a "rebuild kit" put together the little bit I looked but Its all there if you wanted to rebuild. I would sure replace the rod bolts...
I gotta say that ( Mightyvac fluid evacuator) looks like a very handy outfit. I have a mighty vac brake bleeder that I have used for all kinds of fluid vaccing for years, but it is small and kind of a pain to use. This one looks to have a big vaccum pump and large capacity too. I'll be getting...
I am glad I googled this before commenting on the truck. Pink Heals Tour Texas Chapter Lots of cancer in my family. I definetely want to see some pictures of this truck when its done. At that time I will contribute to their cause. Dean
I will have to check that out Joseph. Its good to know about those areas like that, that are prone to failure. As for the current air leak that was killing the engine, that was a dozer1 created problem. I had replaced all of the jumper lines on the tank selector valve. That was badly needed, but...
I will be leaving it stock. For me that's the whole idea with this truck. I like the fact that it will be real useful for me on the farm. I am always needing more rock for my driveway or moving some black dirt around.
I did do the fuel leak test as outlined by augiedoggy and it verified the "sucking air" theory. Without knowing where the air is coming from, I am going to guess that the selector valve leaks internally because i had no fuel in one tank. It could pull the air easier from there then pull fuel...
"put a fuel can next to the engine with a fuel hose directly to the inlet of the pump to verify that you are sucking air somewhere"
That will probably be the first thing I do in the morning. (after about a quart of coffee)
Hey all,
Sorry no new pic right now but just a quick note. About a month after I said this truck would be running, I finally got my injectors and finished assembling the motor today. I had an experienced mechanic help me set the overhead up, then went on to put the rest together. Well it...
Hey treessw. I dont know if this is helpfull or not but I do have combat wheels on my 817. The lugnuts take a 1 1/2" socket and they clearly say "right" or "left" on them . The front ones barely have a little bolt portruding past the lugnuts. The back ones have around 1/4" or 3/8"of bolt...
With that I will assume that they physically would fit in there and the guy was probably not BSing me. Thanks for clearing that up for me.[thumbzup] Dean
Did I have 903 injectors before or not...hmmmmm
With the same body, wouldn't they physically then be able to fit in an NHC250? I understand that they are the wrong injectors for a 250 and have the wrong internal parts, but would they fit and make it run? (albiet run incorrectly) In this...
This was a pretty old thread, I was just wondering what you decided to do. I agree with knc1105 if the new one is 350.00 grab it and dont look back. Someones rusty , varnish covered tank would need lots of work and still not be free to begin with.
I will be the first to admit that I know nothing about the different injectors available for the NHC250. The diesel injection tech that I took my M817 pump and injectors to wound up getting reconditioned injectors for me. He said it had the wrong ones in it. The ones it had were for the 903...
